  1. I have zero interest in Snell. Fried has injury concerns, but I'd be happy if they signed him.
  2. Can't outspend anyone with Int'l money. He gets to pick and choose where he wants to go. It won't be here.
  3. Brez should sign Soto while Henry isn't paying attention. If they keep underspending, you know where the money is going and where the priorities lie: Last July, the Boston Planning and Development Agency approved Fenway Corners, “a $1.6 billion mixed-use project that will bring offices, labs, apartments, a slew of retailers, and street-level upgrades along Jersey Street, Brookline Avenue, and Van Ness Street,” according to the Boston Globe. The construction on the eight-building build has not yet begun. “Obviously, the brand new 5,000-person MGM Music Hall that sits just behind the right field bleachers opened about two years ago and has really enhanced the neighborhood,” Kennedy said. “We have not broken ground on our Fenway Corners project yet given the environment for real estate development. We’re not there yet, but hopefully we’re inching closer to that. If you have a chance to look on the BPDA’s website, you can see what Jersey Street is going to look like down the road with retail hotels and residential. I just think this neighborhood is going to continue to be upgraded into 2025 and beyond.”
  4. Betts signed a below market deal!
  5. An ultra-elite athlete then? What a surprise. We don't know how he'll age, but there have always been guys that were absolute units at age 18.
  6. Whatever his age says on bref. There is an outspoken agent on TikTok who has spoken out against other latin ballplayers and their ages (Pujols for example) but states unequivocally that Soto is legit. Automatically assuming Soto isn't the age he is because he's so good, it pretty unfair to him. Their were rumors about Pujols going back to his FA signing with the Angels. There are no real rumors about Soto, just a lot of fans that probably wish the game looked a little differently.
  7. His ex was nagging him extra hard that year. That's why he struggled.
  8. The Bagwells would be Campbell, Anthony Bleis, Cespedes and maybe Montgomery. I'm not saying they will be, but they are the guys with that ceiling. Unfortunately, you have to risk it and trade high ceiling guys from time to time. Bagwell 1998 New Britain Red Sox: 136 G 4 HR 422 OBP 457 SLG 73 BB 57 K
  9. I think they just saw a FA RHB and said "that's the guy."
  10. Lots of Adames talk right now. Per Statcast, 152 career HR's only 115 would have been HR at Fenway. He's a RHB, but I'm not really feeling Adames. If they didn't have Story already, fine. Seems like too much money when they already have other intriguing MIF options coming up soon.
  11. I'm always here to mess with someone's day! 😩
  12. I haven't played around with the budget mechanism yet, so thanks for letting me know about the budget piece. I would say that if a budget comes out to 200M, it doesn't leave that much of room for the CBT due to player benefits, normal season churn of players, in season moves, pay for 27-40 man spots, etc. Seems fine enough for this though.
  13. Wait, did Pivetta turn down the QO?
  14. Zero chance the Sox start the season over the CBT IMO. Kutter would also be put in the pen before Gio. Where did Pivetta go?
  15. I would NOT trade multiple top 100 guys for him. He couldn't pitch the whole season. He didn't want to be traded during the year. He has no track record. We see pitchers fall off really quick due to injury. This guy seems like he'd be a prime case for that.
  16. He's also not exactly the first guy to struggle with moving to a brand new team midseason.
  17. Oh, ALL the credit to Teoscar. He's going to get PAID. He deserves it. Big season. Helps a team win a WS.
  18. The White Sox are going to ask for too much for a guy who has only thrown 219 innings and is only controllable through 2026. Sorry, Cease is NOT comparable.
  19. Yeah, could have had him last year if they offered him more AAV. Now they'd have to offer him even more than they would have last season. Bad business!
  20. There's a little bit of flukiness to some of Story's issues, but the arm problem was already known and should have been handled early on. I hope he can have at least one good year and get some fans behind him, but it's been a real rough go for him. No idea what to expect out of Gio coming off surgery.
  21. "We really liked how the 2024 team looked in Spring Training. What if we ran it back with Giolito and the boys again?" 🧛‍♂️
