  1. Now if they could just get an extension done.
  2. Just letting it rip out there.
  3. Not sure I've heard anyone mention Gonzales' defense.
  4. Oh sure, they won't even be half way through Spring Training until next week. Of course the 2b is decided. May as well just go fishing.
  5. The dry spells may be "long", but not multiple months long.
  6. You think they only work on turning DP's in game? If so, they may only turn one every game. What kind of work is that?
  7. I just called him my favorite guy to sub in on RBI Baseball since they used the 1984 stats. https://wiki.dee-nee.com/wiki/Tony_Armas
  8. And they are trying to play as many players as possible to see where everyone is at. If they can give AB's to Grissom/Hamilton/Campbell and starting at different positions during the same game while all competing for the same position, it's a good thing.
  9. JD 2018 Papi 2006 Papi 2005 Manny 2005 Papi 2004 Manny 2004 Manny 2001 Mo 1996 Armas 1984 Rice 1978 Yaz 1967 Williams 1949 Foxx 1938 Foxx 1936 That's it. That's the list.
  10. Things I will not be clicking at work regardless of what the image ends up being.
  11. He fielded 4 different positions last season and 6 during his short pro career. Dude is just versatile. I know it's not the answer you want to hear. Some guys can play multiple positions and be fine. 36% 2B 33% SS 26% CF 5% 3B If you can just use him as a swiss army knife, fine. I wouldn't put him at SS though. I think he's most likely a 2B/OF/3B guy.
  12. There's no other place to play defensively challenged Grissom or Hamilton. Campbell is versatile enough that you can throw him elsewhere and still get him reps. He's been primarily a 2B and probably should remain there unless they REALLY believe in Grissom IMO.
  13. I'm right there with you and have mentioned it previously. 😎
  14. He's a guy whose physical gifts have brought him to MLB. He clearly has to take the next step. We don't know if it's health, ability or something else that is currently holding him back. Breslow said that he believes he can become a 40/120 guy. Casas says that if he doesn't get there, he shouldn't be the 1B. I guess he shouldn't be the 1B of the Boston Red Sox since I don't see him reaching those numbers at the moment.
  15. May '24 DNP July '24 898 OPS (season high) 🤷‍♀️
  16. It seemed like it to me from early indications. Glad to hear it.
  17. I haven’t noticed a difference, so I’m just reporting Stat Masterson’s perspective as I found it interesting and contrary to what I’ve said in the past.
  18. Also, thank you to Maddie for correctly speaking out against the trade idea. Initial post was prior to me getting to that point.
  19. Had to pause the episode: 1. David Hamilton looks like the 2b of the future because of a few weeks of ST games and his added muscle. 2. Multiple years of Duran, Casas and a AAA starter for two months of Vlad at the deadline. This episode went off the rails early. ST stats don’t matter. The added muscle players put on doesn’t matter. Rafaela has revamped his swing and worked on being patient before and it didn’t matter. That trade proposal is CBO firing worthy. Duran, Casas and Priester should bring back a young controllable rotation piece, not a guy that will cost 450M to re-sign. 😠
  20. 2023: 4/20-8/18 96 G, 867 OPS 2024: 4/19-8/28 67 G, 867 OPS I think there were different reasons he fell off in each season, but I think it's really overstated about him being cold "for months." You could say he's started slow for a few weeks and then ended poorly for a month or so each season. If he carried that 867 OPS for the whole season, nobody should complain.
  21. This would be unsurprising as he started to transition off C last season, was demoted to AA to work on catching and make room for the big 4 but really hasn't shown much behind the plate at any point. His OPS really fell off last season with the promotion to AAA. Maybe a second go around will help him the way it did for Kavadas (+185 OPS in second season at AAA)?
