  1. Are they calling up Roman Anthony to be in the starting rotation to help with the ERA ranking that he's been complaining about??? I DON'T THINK THAT'S GOING TO WORK, SON!!!
  2. I don't care about their current ranking, but what they will do going forward.
  3. I think they've said his defense has regressed a little and he's no longer CF. I would just get him ready to be a 1B/COF guy. Somebody that you end up platooning or take over as a starter as needed.
  4. That's great, but those guys are ACTUALLY out of the rotation right now.
  5. Romero 3B Mayer SS Campbell 2B Garcia 1B
  6. The salad days of Hanley Ramirez.
  7. At least with Pablo they got to sell Panda hats and we got to see him absolutely brutalize a belt buckle. With Story, it's just been a lot of sad contemplation.
  8. Who cares about an 81 game timeframe? That stretches back through a shoulder surgery into the middle of last season. That sample is meaningless to how he performing right now.
  9. We're cookin' tonight, just keep on tokin'
  10. Holmes pitched well last time against the BoSox. The bullpen really let him down. Really gross hair though. He was part of trade for Sox legends Rich Hill and Josh Reddick. You know that hair is going to look extra nasty in humid ATL. This may be a radio broadcast only for me.
  11. Dombrowski only stays if Mookie stays, so I'm cool with it.
  12. Yet you love getting upset about mine. 😩
  13. I look at each move in a vacuum, but at the offseason as a whole. The Sale trade was fine. The Giolito acquisition as the "big get" was LAME.
  14. This is the only way they get through the year.
  15. If they dumped him, it doesn't matter what happens afterwards. They have an in house replacement. Mayer takes over at SS and we're happy. If Story goes off and has two All Star seasons, good! It doesn't affect me in the least. That's why I'm not all hot and bothered about the Sale trade. Not that many people were upset by the trade on the day it happened because Sale had been injured and underperforming for years.
  16. Exactly.
  17. Hope springs eternal.
  18. He wasn't going to pitch this year until they ended up below .500. Now they'll get their money's worth.
  19. Sunk Cost Fallacy I'm sure the reason Story is still here is that they don't want to eat the entire salary, but nobody else wants to take on any portion of it. My guess is that he plays out this season and then is gone this offseason.
  20. Bogey leaving had an impact, but I don't know how much of a leader he was aside from being friends with Raffy. He was part of '19, '20, '22.
  21. With the pitchers, it's more about development now than winning games. They really don't care about the overall numbers and want them to actually work on becoming better pitchers than putting up eyepopping stats. They'll have a guy throw 3 horrible sliders in a row, not because it's the right pitch to call but because the guy needs to learn how to throw it.
  22. SoxProspects have not been super high on Arias's ceiling and believe he won't tap into much power. If that turns around, maybe he can really be a top prospect. I don't believe they see him as a starting SS for the Red Sox or at least outcompeting Mayer for the job. I think they'd project him as a weak hitting 2B if it came down to it. It's interesting the guys the do and do not get overly excited about at times. Maybe they are just tempering their excitement? IDK.
  23. IDK about that. There were so many complaints about Sale's lack of leadership. How many years did his team underperform while he was here? How many times did we hear about him cutting up jerseys or doing something ridiculous. I think the team may lack a leader, but it's not due to the loss of Sale. When did the culture really change here? It was after Mookie left.
  24. It's why they signed Pablo Sandoval. "He really embodies a lot of what we care about,” Cherington said. “This is a guy that has been a big winner. He’s been a performer when it counts the most."
