  1. If they get any sort of offer for Story, Breslow would say yes before the other team could reconsider.
  2. Bullpen, bullpen, bullpen? Houck looked ROUGH last night for WOO. Kutter is a back end guy, but could fill in if there's an injury. Harrison has some work to do in WOO before they'll call him up. It may be a while.
  3. This is just rewriting history for Breslow's sake. Breslow is intentionally not communicating with players. This has not come up before.
  4. With the Yankees, if you can slow down Judge, the rest of the lineup seems very ordinary.
  5. Potential trade targets: Bats: Josh Naylor Ozuna (already rumored trade for Devers) SP: Eflin Freddy Peralta Heaney Jake Bird RP: Raisel Iglesias Kyle Finnegan Dennis Santana
  6. What specifically about those stats do you not like? 1. I'm worried about the offense because of the makeup of the roster this year (not long term). 2. The offense is in a funk, but is being bailed out by the rotation that is balling out. 3. Without a big bopper at the top of the lineup, it's infinitely harder to see who is going to carry this lineup going forward. 4. I like Bregman, but his 158 wRC+ is the highest it has been since 2019 and seems like it make regress some as well.
  7. Right. Stats you don't like are bad. I get it. The offense is not going well right now. They are leaning on young guys that will struggle at times. Toro will regress. Narvaez will regress. Story is not consistent. Duran is not 2024 Duran. Losing Devers is going to be a problem for this offense.
  8. They were 4th in runs on June 9th. You think they'll be 4th in runs on September 30th?
  9. From what I've heard is that Bloom did talk to players more than Breslow and did try to have more of a connection with people. He was available for the team when Vaz was traded. Breslow apparently traveled all the way to Seattle, but when reporters asked players if they've spoken with Breslow, not one say they had. C'mon man...
  10. Yeah, it goes back to Lester and "not signing pitchers over 30." This ownership just doesn't know how to be a big market ballclub.
  11. Averaging 1.7 runs/game without Devers! Sox currently on a 2.5 runs/game over the last 8 (28th in runs, 2nd in K%).
  12. Duran, Abreu, Rafaela Any of them could go and I don't think it'd greatly impact the overall longterm outlook of the franchise. They are all good players, but all replaceable.
  13. It wasn't my post! He hit 3rd in 80 Games in 2015.
  14. I don't see any disrespect in those comments. Quite the leap in logic to make that claim.
  15. I watched the GRE game and Holobetz pitched fairly well. Seemed to have some swing and miss. Offense didn't do anything. Arias looks slow running the bases to me.
  16. I figured something must have happened because I saw a bunch of people say he needed to be called up. 🙄
  17. I think that was bad sentence structure and trying to say it took four years for Bogey to bat at the top of the lineup. Pedroia was just an aside.
  18. If Breslow had not lied in his year end presser and said that he would talk to Devers prior to any changes to his position and subsequently lied to Devers about saying they weren't interested in signing Bregman or trading for Arenado and Devers was going to be the 3b or even spoke to Devers prior to ST, Devers would still be a Red Sox.
  19. I was just thinking in terms of day to day performance, not overall health. Every pitcher seems to be a ticking timebomb.
  20. Sure it happens, it just feels like it's happening to the Sox at a very high percentage right now. To me, I kinda expect the FA success rate to be 50%. Sox are at the losing end of things over the past few years. When factoring in things like the Sale trade, Breslow's tenure hasn't exactly been a slam dunk either. There's a good reason to remain skeptical and not be all in on their analytics only approach.
  21. Too much of a rollercoaster ride, which makes sense coming of TJS. Can't trust those guys.
  22. I want them to spend money on the right players. Just spending money because you have it is a silly thing to do. Crochet? Good extension. Bello, Rafaela and Campbell are up for debate at this point! Giolito? Buehler? You need to be able to find the right players to give the money to. People complain about Masa and Story's contracts all the time. Sox haven't spent money wisely in recent memory.
  23. None of the extensions have looked good so far, including Cora's. The Giants are psyched about this trade as they are unable to lure big time FA hitters to their team and this was a way to get a bat into their lineup. I don't think they are worried about the last 3-4 years of that contract. Posey may not be GM by then. They've only had 1 playoff appearance in the last 8 years. They are hoping to reverse that trend. We'll see how Posey's old school style works in comparison to Breslow's.
  24. The Betts trade was franchise altering because of the trajectory the Sox are now on. Raffy is a very frustrating trade for many reasons, but ultimately just another notch on the bedpost where the fanbase has been getting reamed by ownership over the past 6 years.
