  1. @Sean_McAdam: Ortiz now has 7 100 RBI seasons with the Red Sox. In franchise history, only Ted Williams (nine) and Jim Rice (eight) have more.
  2. Carlos Gomez hits home run. Starts brawl and never touches home. Video at mlb.com already.
  3. "Baby s*** the tub again!"
  4. @TomCaron: .@RedSox now hold the tiebreaker w/ @Athletics (intradivision rec.) Won't hold it if A's make up 1 1/2 games by end of season. Magic # is 3.
  5. Isn't that why there's a 5 character minimum?
  6. I'm ok with it. Kind of a mouthful though.
  7. UN? has a new catchphrase!
  8. Was probably drinking bud light last night.
  9. It's funny, but don't do too much celebrating. Everyone on here has made good and bad predictions. Enjoy the sig bet win and move on. I remember a certain poster saying RDR would be the Sox #3 starter. That clearly didn't happen.
  10. More like Jacko's golden shower.
  11. I'm offended by you inability to do math. 5/75 AAV is 15. 20 - 15 = 5, not 2 or 3. Why overpay for an injury prone guy whose greatest asset is speed, which will only get worse over time (especially considering his injury history)?
  12. I'm ok with it.
  13. Look, Ellsbury is a great player. However, I don't see him having another 2011 or going to the HOF like Boggs. If they can sign him for 5/75, you do it. If he wants 20 AAV, you walk away.
  14. And Ells went 39 and 15, meaning he turned 15 of his productive hits or walks into outs. I'll still go with Boggs and his much higher OBP and OPS+.
  15. JBJ: 7 SB and 7 CS at Pawtucket this year Berry: 22 SB and 0 CS for Detroit and Boston the past two years.
  16. ^Was 5 when Dave Roberts stole 2nd. Dude, learn your history!
  17. 2011 Ells: 146 OPS+ Boggs had 5 years higher than that. His 87 season is better than Ells' 2011.
  18. s***, I'd have Boggs hit 1st over Ells. Ells couldn't get a .450 OBP if he was playing in AAA.
  19. Just think Farrell will go with Thornton. I'd probably take Britton as well.
  20. That's pretty much what I was thinking. Bigger question marks in the bp. Basically, pick 2 out of these guys: Doubront, Britton, Workman and Thornton. Uehara, Taz, Dempster, Breslow and Morales are locks. Farrell goes with Workman (RHP) and Thornton.
  21. JBJ should only be on the roster if Ells is not ready to go. Not sure Xander would start any games in the playoffs as Farrell has been riding Drew and WMB ever since Xander was called up. Right handed bat off the bench, maybe.
  22. I'm not missing a forest. I just think without seeing evidence, Braun is the worse guy here and got off too lightly if ARod is getting 200 games...
  23. Braun didn't take a deal when he failed that test.
