  1. In theory, I'd trade Garcia for another player. I just don't believe Breslow would win that trade this deadline. I'd be more apt to trade Garcia if I felt like the Sox were a legit contender and needed a piece or two to get them over the top.
  2. The story is that they are open for trades if they like the return.
  3. Next, your bias against Cora is evident. Don't you realize that all of these moves with Campbell were planned out long before he made it to MLB. Go look at where he played in the minors the past few years: 2b, SS, CF. He didn't just play one position. Why? Of course it was just Cora! He played LF and RF in 2023 in the Complex League, Salem and Greenville because of Alex Cora of course! It wasn't because of an organizational decision to see where he'd fit. It was Alex Cora! Alex Cora was worried about this 4th round comp pick so much in 2023 that he wanted him playing positions he's never played before! Then he deviously said that Campbell should continue a path at 2b/CF in 2024 when he began the season in Greenville! Alex really cares about High A lineups and is often watching Drive games while in the dugout. Man, if only Craig Breslow had control over HIS team and could get Campbell to play his one true position again! I wonder why Breslow isn't stepping in and making Campbell play SS every game if he's so great at it???
  4. On Rafaela vs Duran in CF I prefer Rafaela in CF and Duran in LF. I don't believe Duran would be all that much better this year if they moved him back to CF. With Duran, he's not a confident fielder. He's a guy that has stated that he doesn't want the ball hit to him. Why do I want that guy in CF? He makes up for bad reads and bad jumps with speed. As his speed goes away (he's slower this year) his defense is going to get worse. Even saw some bad reads this series. That's not going to get better in CF IMO. Duran's game is down across the board this year. I'm not going to move him with the hopes that it will get marginally better and play Rafaela out of position. Rafaela one of the best CFers in the game and I'm leaving him there. He struggled last year when they moved him around, so I'm not going to do that to him this year when he's finally starting to hit too. I don't think Anthony is that good in the OF. He's worse than Abreu for sure. Probably is LF only if playing with Abreu and Rafaela. He doesn't have a great arm and only has average range.
  5. Why would I have to explain? You made an assumption about it for some unknown reason. There's nothing in my previous post that even alluded to it!
  6. He's young and cheap. Maybe they trade him, but they don't have much coming up behind him if they do! 🫣
  7. They moved their best hitter and a 24 year old who has "started" 16 games (I'm counting the piggy backs as starts) for the Brewers. While they received good value back on both trades, neither trade helped this year. They are clearly open to trading from this year's 40 man roster. How are they not?
  8. Those are very costly. Not sure it's worth it for this team.
  9. I don't think they go out and get a #2. I think it's more likely the do a bigger trade that takes away from their MLB team than adds to. They may add some relievers to help with the tired arms in the pen as well.
  10. Kopech wasn't a top 50 prospect until after he was traded to the White Sox. He had decent value, but never made it to AA with the BoSox. Craig Hansen was a pure reliever and not comparable to the others listed. If we have to go back 17 years to find a like prospect to Tolle, it says a lot about either the prospect or the system.
  11. With Sandlin. The 3.9 bWAR is also more than he had the previous two seasons combined. Forgive me if I don't get hot and bothered about his high watermark. Ryan hasn't been a workhorse and may go out his next start and end up missing the rest of the year afterwards.
  12. 6 years of control for Sandlin (not hot and bothered about) 6 years of control for Tolle 3.5 years of control for Duran vs 2.5 years of control for Ryan
  13. Tolle is most likely pitching in the majors at some point next season with how things are looking now.
  14. He doesn't need to be a starter. He needs to replace Refsnyder since Duran and Abreu (whichever they keep around) can't hit LHP.
  15. The Rockies already fired their manager. I guess they could fire the interim and the GM.
  16. I agree that it's the only tool that we got. I just think there have been many times on here that posters have said "well, it won't work if it doesn't work per BTV." Payton Tolle is a top 50 prospect now and some BA guys think he's one of the top 10 arms in MiLB. Things like that don't get adequately measured by BTV. That's why I don't really like the MLB player plus MiLB potpourri trade proposals that get run through BTV.
  17. Grissom probably isn't in the system after this year.
  18. I'm not sure. Wong should be picking up additional games to lighten the load for Narvaez, but he can't because of how awful he's been. A backup catcher would go a long way to help the Captain of the team.
  19. Chapman can be re-signed in the offseason. They can go with Whitlock if they want. Slaten? Sign Kyle Finnegan, Ryan Helsley, Raisel Iglesias, Devin Williams or someone else?
  20. They already dealt Raffy and Priester and didn't seem to bring back legitimate MLB talent for 2025. Sox are clearly open for business.
  21. I don't think BTV does a great job at valuing MiLB guys. Are 9 Mullins worth one Tolle? There's an increasing chance that Mullins is added to someone's 40 man this offseason. He threw an immaculate inning last time out. He's certainly not Payton Tolle, but he's a decent prospect.
  22. Ceddanne is very hot right now, but his chase rate is still high and he's still whiffing like crazy. His numbers will most likely come down. The good thing about him is that he won't miss a mistake pitch.
  23. Jhostynxon has always destroyed LHP. No reason to worry about Romy in the OF.
