  1. We had a dumb Ellsbury vs JBJ post on here for years... People just can't move on OR TAKE A VACATION FROM THIS BOARD FOR A WEEK WHEN THEY SHOULD BE WITH THEIR FAMILY INSTEAD OF US.
  2. Kyle Harrison and Eduardo Rivera pitching tonight. Since Rivera is newer to the system: https://www.masslive.com/redsox/2025/07/how-red-sox-beat-other-clubs-to-6-foot-7-lefty-prospect-who-hits-97-mph.html
  3. It worked? I mean, I guess? He didn't have any monster games or anything. 3-11, 2 2b's, 5 K, 0 BB. You could have had Marcelo play for Eaton, go 0-11 and the Sox win each game.
  4. 1. They are hitting well now, but you have to consider the opponent and this team has had considerable slumps in the past. As you say later in your post, the offense will have a tougher task in the next few weeks. 2. The bad defense is HARD to overlook. 3. Agree about the rotation in terms of Crochet, Gio and Bello. Fitts is young and decent as a back end guy. I no longer watch Buehler starts. Refuse. 4. The good manager has been around for several poor seasons. 5. Not going to get hot and bothered by an additional 200 people at the ballpark TBH.
  5. KC is more of a reel mower. Kind of finicky. Needs just the right conditions.
  6. Vlad 2.2 fWAR Devers 2.0 fWAR The Devers contract is the one that's under water though according to BTV!
  7. He's a replacement level player that won't be around very long. In a few years we'll be like "remember that guy?"
  8. I heard that Toro mows over young players that are trying to grow on the field.
  9. If he can be a 7th/8th inning guy, I'm fine with it. He also may end up DFA'd and whatever. I think the real get is supposed to be Harrison, but we'll see. A lot to work on for him.
  10. It was on the skids even prior to Devers leaving. It's fair to track when the offense isn't performing. From June 10 - June 27: 28th in runs 29th in wRC+ 29th in K% After June 28th (TOR/CIN/WSN/COL, 5 of 9 games with 9+ runs): 1st in runs 1st in wRC+ 4th in K%
  11. Please don't try to actively pick fights on the forum. Thanks. Let's just move on.
  12. I think the problem is that they need to start trotting the backup out more than once every fifth day to give Narvaez some rest. Maybe not 60/40, but 70/30? He's been so valuable and he'll need his legs as they get deeper into the season. The most games he's ever played in a season is 100. He's on track for 122. It doesn't seem like a big difference, but if they do sneak into the playoffs, he's going to be worth TF out and he's a huge contributor for them.
  13. If the Sox were in a division with a the White Sox, A's, Nats and Rockies, they'd still somehow wind up near .500 at the end of the year. They went 10-3 before last year's ASB and 8-1 before the '23 ASB. I'm not getting sucked in. I've seen it before.
  14. Bullpen or 1b? I think bullpen is almost always something that even middling teams add to at the deadline like the Sox did last season. Hard to really compare TBH. There are a lot of pitchers on the IL that could come back (Houck, Burdi, Hendriks, Guerrero, Sandoval) and the Sox may see them as late season adds to the pen. They could also add Harrison, Criswell and Moran. IDK. Toro is fading at 1B (611 OPS since 6/13), but they may add Campbell or even Jordan at some point. They seem to have better depth at those positions than they do at C where Connor Wong is a -0.5 bWAR because the baseball gods decided his good luck last year with the bat needed to reverse quickly and painfully (392 OPS, EV 84.7).
  15. Nobody said they'd value Mullins OVER Tolle. 🙄
  16. 0.0 bWAR He could put anyone out there I guess if we're just posting WAR now for argument's sake.
  17. Did you like the part where Nate Eaton missed that tag at 3b? Good play I guess?
  18. Will is a bigtime FO homer. He went all in on the culture needing to change once Raffy was out the door. Most of the teammates just said "Raffy was one of 26 guys, we're moving on" and weren't pointing to there being any clubhouse issues. The only people saying there were clubhouse issues are from the FO. Everyone else has said they liked playing with Raffy and that it's just part of the game that people get traded. Duran basically said "what am I supposed to do, cry about it or get up and play baseball the next day?" People in Giants camp have said that the Raffy 1b practice was rescheduled as he's still dealing with groin issues and isn't able to really work out. Everyone just wants to make a big deal about it though, especially a real whiner and blowhard like Will Clark.
  19. The only 1b to hit 40+ HR since 2017: Alonso, Vlad Jr, Matt Olson. I'm not so sure the Sox are getting one of those three guys. If they wanted Alonso, they would have signed him last offseason.
  20. The SoxProspect guys said they wouldn't add him to the 40 man as the 3rd catcher, so it must not be good enough anymore for them. His defensive metrics fell off last season per Statcast. 🤔
  21. People just want to see Mayer and Anthony every game. I get it. They are the future, not the Nate Eatons of the world.
  22. If it's in the middle of the plate, it's going over the fence. No harm in saying that. 🫠
  23. Nice to see Ehrhard get the shoutout. Old man Allan Castro has picked it up lately.
