    I don't feel sorry for Tampa. That owner gets enough subsidy from the league and pockets a ton of cash. They could spend more if they wanted, they just don't. Also, Tampa and Pittsburgh seemed to do just fine last year. Parity isn't a big problem in MLB. Some organizations don't really care about winning each year. KC upped their payroll and still missed the playoffs. There shouldn't be corporate welfare for s***** organizations.

    Fred, I said the same thing about Papi a few years ago. Whenever he gets a big hit, my wife is quick to remind me that I though he was washed up.

    I think this is just one thing you have to deal with having him on your team. I'm sure ownership isn't worried about it. As long as he performs, he'll get paid here.

    Problem being, Farrell sees him as a starter not as a jack of all trades. That's why contract size is irrelevant.

    But what's the point in drafting a backup IF in the 1st round? Those players grow on trees. I'd rather waste picks on volatile high ceiling guys.

    I had to google who the NBA player was on the Coco Pebbles commercial. Clearly, I have lost interest in the NBA. If there were less fouls and the last two mintues didn't stretch to 20, I'd be able to follow it more.

    The Marrero signing was kinda weird. He was projected to have a ceiling of an average SS. For where they drafted him, they would have been better off trying to find a guy with a live arm or power potential.

    Fred, they could sign him for the veteran's minimum and he'd still play more than you'd want him to.
