The MLB isn't covering itself in glory here. To hire Bosch just seems like a terrible PR move. If they want to hire a sleazeball, at least go for one that's not going to be on 60 Minutes.
And I just don't think any of this is to keep the game clean. If they wanted a clean MLB, someone would've asked questions about the A's when the 1988 Topps set came out and McGwire was 50 lbs heavier and Canseco looked like the Ultimate Warrior. After the 88 Olympics, why didn't anyone do something then? My 12 year old brain figured some of these guys had something in common with Ben Johnson. Why couldn't adults see this? Because money!
Bosch is a scam artist. It would look terrible for MLB to be in cahoots with him even more than they already are. Selig cares more about his personal grudge against ARod than keeping the game clean.
It's still the same players (Tex signed that dumb ARod deal, both LA teams have had high payrolls). The game would change if Pitt or TB got that kind of tv money.

Piazza - can't vote him in because of PED suspicion!!!
Bagwell - he's in!!!
McAdam is a real dope sometimes.
I don't agree that players should be punished for compiling, but I also don't think 3,000 hits should be an automatic entry. Arbitrary standards like that are silly when the game has evolved over the past 100 years.
@pedrogomezESPN: My 2014 MLB HOF ballot: Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, Fred McGriff, Jack Morris, Lee Smith, Frank Thomas, Alan Trammell
Morris over Mussina? McGriff over Edgar? Lee Smith?
I knew this guy was an idiot.
