  1. Well, owners keep getting the public to pay for new stadiums and people keep paying their cable bill. People have been bitching about player contracts ever since Yaz's big deal. The money has just skyrocketed ever since and hasn't slowed down.
  2. The owners aren't really in debt though. These guys are flushed with Scrooge McDuck amounts of cash. I don't see any crash coming before Trout gets a new deal.
  3. I've heard that before. "No one will get another ARod contract again!" There's just insane amounts of money in the game now.
  4. If every 1st rounder worked out, the Cubs would've had a WS by now. Thankfully, the Yankees drafting has been far behind the Sox for a few years now.
  5. New users? Heh... Have you seen it around here?
  6. I like this. Every poster over 5,000 posts needs a chart.
  7. There won't be any major cable billing changes in the next few years. I would support a pay per channel option, but would be surprised if that ever happens. Baseball will never have a hard cap. Their union is stronger than any other in professional sports. How about the lower tiered teams actually be required to put all revenue sharing dollars received into their own payrolls rather than the owner's pockets? How about a salary floor to prevent teams like the Marlins and Astros from being laughingstocks?
  8. Good luck? All you have to do is google "pitch count injury correlation" and a bunch of studies pop up.
  9. "Aroldis Chapman has bone fractures and a concussion, and will have a metal plate permanently installed in his head, but is otherwise well. He is expected to miss six to eight weeks."
  10. The SRO tickets are great as you'll still be up there and I'd rather lean on the wall than sit in those painful seats anyway.
  11. I disagree. Homeplate collisions are dumb, but foul tips probably cause far more concussions. http://grantland.com/features/mlb-catcher-concussions-home-plate-collisions-rule/
  12. The Coliseum is a great place to catch a game if you can deal with s***** A's fans. I could eat a ton of their garlic fries right now.
  13. Is Capuano only working out of the pen in ST?
  14. Badenhop is looking pretty s***** today.
  15. http://deadspin.com/belligerent-red-sox-prospect-arrested-while-looking-to-1544062842 After following him on twitter, none of this is surprising. He seems like a grade A moron.
  16. @KenTremendous: Scott Boras on guys who declined $14.1 million 1-yr deals: "This system has placed them not in free agency, but it's placed them in a jail." Truer words have never been spoken.
  17. The point I was simply making (which clearly flew well over the heads of you three numbskulls) was that you have a propensity towards rose colored glasses for the Yanks, but continue to denigrate Sox fans who do the same. It's fine though. It's your gimmick. Fantastic. I prefer to be an actual realist, not push some agenda.
  18. Sorry that some people struggle with hyperbole on here.
  19. Yup, totally going to supplant CC as staff ace. You called it.
  20. Inconceivable!
  21. Purplesaurus Rex
  22. Says the guy who had shelf space reserved for Pineda CY trophies...
  23. Betts is working out at SS this spring.
  24. My contention was with the phrasing "everything went right." Clearly, it didn't.
  25. Everything went right last year including: WMB getting demoted, David Ross missing half the season, Drew sucking balls for 2 months after a ST injury, Hanrahan sucking and missing 90% of the season, backup closer Andrew Bailey being a garbage pile, Andrew Miller getting a season ending injury and Buchholz missing the 2nd half of the season... Seriously, NOT ONE THING went wrong last year.
