    I was going to a game at Wrigley once, but it turned out that my roommate, Henry Warnimont, had been scammed by fake tickets. It all worked out in the end though. Met some great people. Cubs even won the game!

    I don't know how anyone could trust Jordan to produce in MLB. It'd be interesting to give him a shot down the stretch if they don't acquire anyone and Toro continues to struggle.

    It's no longer a freak injury with Casas if it's every year. If Story had freak injuries over and over again going back to 2016, I'd agree with the assumption that he's an injury risk (now he's a bigger injury risk simply due to age, but that's besides the point). I'm not advocating for dumping Casas. I just don't believe they can count on him to be a 140 game a year guy the way they have. They need to have depth behind him. The depth at 1b in the system is putrid. It's been that way for a long time. They just don't draft or develop guys at that position.

    I'm sorry, maybe you just didn't read all of my posts last year talking about how Meidroth barely hits the ball out of the IF and has well below average EV? He can get on base and plays good defense. Good enough for a 26th man bench player in his first year in the bigs. Next!

    It's different enough. Casas has been injured his entire career. I expect that will continue to be the case. Story's issues were untreated arm issue that the Sox knew about when they signed him and freak accident when he landed funny when diving for a ball. I'm more concerned about a long term deal with Breggie and his recurring leg issues if I'm going to be honest.

    If Campbell and Casas are both hitting well and both seem to be playing 1B well, it's a problem for the future Red Sox. At that point, you could platoon them in the short term, move Campbell around the diamond, trade one of them in season, or make Casas the fulltime DH. Who knows? That's not necessarily a problem Breslow has to figure out now as those players aren't those guys yet.

    Story had a long career in COL not being injured. That's completely different than Casas.

    There's no "big deal." I just would have rather seen him on the bench than Hamilton. He's a better UTIL guy than what we've put out there. He also has a great offensive approach that could rub off on other players like Schwarber did. These are the types of conversations that you don't care for so...

    I think that's why historically, we haven't had a lot of uniform discussions on here. We have a classic uniform that hasn't needed change. The road uniform is whatever. Not many people are buying that one and it's never been very good. The alternates have been fine, but nothing special. The one topic that used to be very hot was concerning replacing Fenway. However, this ownership group has done a great job at modernizing Fenway as best they can and making the fans believe that this stadium will be around another 100 years whether it should be or not. 30 years ago, there were many fans that would have rather seen a Red Sox game at a modern facility TBH. Now, we don't have stadium talk anymore.

    The trade was worth it. We can still say it'd be nice if they kept Meidroth and sent another guy instead.

    It's not a bad break if the guy is consistently injured. I believe health is a skill set/player tool. Casas doesn't have it.

    I think they'll get a low end starter at the very least. Can probably get a 5th starter type for a low level prospect.

    I don't think it's been about balancing pitching and hitting, it's just been an all out push towards pitching. Two straight drafts and only 12 hitters were picked since Breslow has been here. That's 70% of all picks being pitchers. Active rosters up and down the minors are still 50/50 pitchers and hitters. At some point, overly focusing on pitchers is going to come back and bite them. Pitchers are more likely to get injured. Hitters are a safer bet to retain their value as tradeable assets and advance in the system. I like that they are trying to fix the blind spot Bloom had with pitching, but I'm not sure they are going about it in the right manner.

    When I saw Brand in ST in '24 I was taken aback to see a pitcher that size. Really weird. He looks even shorter than his listed height as well. Doesn't help when every guy you're standing next to is 5-6"s taller.

    I really thought Meidroth would have fit nicely as a bench piece here. I'm shocked how well he's played SS in Chicago. Wish they would have thrown in another prospect in that trade.
