  1. Pumpsie's posts tend to flop worse than the 2022 Red Sox TBF.
  2. Yes, they have been active on the trade market. 1. Heyman for Hoppe 2. Ward for Bernardino 3. Hernandez for Murphy 4. Gray for Guerrero 5. Gray for Clarke, Fitts, PTBNL 6. Oviedo, Samiego, Guzman for Garcia and Travieso 7. Jackson for Grissom 8. Watson for Reimer 9. Bennett for Perales 10. Contreras for Dobbins, Fajardo, Aita
  3. We've had falling iguana weather this week! Absolutely brutal down here. 😮‍💨
  4. Bo's market hasn't seemed to be really crazy and he's younger than the over 30 guys. It shouldn't be a hard pill to swallow IMO. He's a lesser talent today, but he'll be a better IFer than Marte or Bregman 3 years from now.
  5. It may work on BTV, but Rays would have no interest in this trade. They wouldn't want to take on two additional 40 man spots. Wong and Masa are net negatives in the trade. Hamilton also probably doesn't start ahead of Palacios in their minds and they've spent a lot of high draft picks on 2b recently.
  6. Part of it is trying to move the ball faster and get the deal over sooner than later IMO. I don't think he wants a strict deadline, but don't believe he wants this dragging out until February.
  7. Marte - really depends on the trade, but leaning towards good Bo - good Bregman - good, but really depends on the deal
  8. What do you mean by "consider this an offseason?"
  9. Don't have much to add at the moment, but figured it's time to start a new thread. I'm glad that Breslow has started to add to the catching position. The pitching side of the org will be fun to watch early on this year. Arias didn't hit much in AA, but we will learn a lot about his future in '26. My early pick is Godbout for org POTY.
  10. 1b has been generally undervalued. I agree that Contreras will go a long way to help the IF.
  11. I'm not all in on Donovan as others are. If they only bring him in, it will leave me unfulfilled. I like Hamilton. I may like Hamilton more than the Sox do considering his playing time. I think his defense is valued too highly on bref though.
  12. Hamilton career 77 wRC+ Donovan career 119 wRC+
  13. Hamilton has had one decent season that was carried by an extremely hot 45 days or so. Donovan has been solid every year. It's not even close especially since Hamilton is NOT a 162 game guy. Let's be real about it.
  14. Moving Duran for Paredes plus prospects is a win IMO. Instead of King, just load up on a few more prospects to help a farm system that is going the wrong direction.
  15. Breslow likes 6'3" LHP The deal is fine enough. Bubic is an upgrade over Bello if healthy.
  16. Paredes is a greater need for the Sox and his bat would play well at Fenway. Duran is a good player, but I'd be fine with a one for one deal there.
  17. If the team is in the playoffs almost every season going forward, I'm not going to complain what the payroll is. I don't think they have to replace every player that walks out that door. Right now, the holes are 2b and 3b. One of those positions will be filled by Mayer. If the other is filled by Bregman, fine. If it's filled by Donovan, I'm not sure it's enough of a replacement over the short term TBH. I try not to be too hung up about it, but it's hard to say "look at the 4 championships" when they've clearly changed their spending habits since then (and have done lots of psychic damage to the fanbase by trading and letting go of franchise players).
  18. Most likely to complain Power Rankings: Duran Casas S Gray Bello
  19. And '22-'24 didn't really feel like an investment. '25 felt like a step in the right direction, but trading away the franchise player (and largest contract) certainly gives me pause.
  20. I think their valuation has been up for debate ever since they signed Masa and it fell flat. Those scouts are still onboard FWIW.
  21. They went from being great owners to mediocre ones. Yay...
  22. It would include charity donations. It's still an expense and isn't interest/taxes/depreciation/amortization. I mean, are you worried about their actual tax return now? They still make a f-ton on their investment and always have. They are just choosing to spend less than ever (comparatively) while making more than ever as fans are spending more than ever. They also didn't win any of those 4 WS titles while being outside the top 10 in salary. Limiting their spending artificially is just bad on-field business TBH. If they don't want to win, that's fine. Just don't point at those 4 flags and say "well they know how to do that so let's trust them to keep doing that." They got those rings by spending!
