  1. Can't believe we're only a hours away from potentially seeing this again: http://deadspin.com/pablo-sandoval-gets-dizzy-and-tired-running-the-bases-1732129918
  2. I've had bad pizza in the North End. I never had bad pizza in Brooklyn.
  3. This is the attitude of an abuse victim. Let's see if it'll change! Things could get better! Maybe she won't hit me this time and steal my whole paycheck! I'm sure she'll let me see my family soon! As Don Corleone once said "know when to walk away, know when to run."
  4. J&V in Bensonurst For square slices (i.e. Sicilian, grandma), I have to say that there's a place in RI that's better than L&B Spumoni Gardens or other Brooklyn joints (everyone in RI just wishes they were from Brooklyn though).
  5. I've met Joe III. He seems like a great guy.
  6. If I'm being honest, the best pizza I ever had was in Brooklyn and it's not even close. NYC is too big and busy for me. After they closed CBGB's, there was less and less of a reason for me to go there. If I didn't have friends that lived in Park Slope (ugh, just no) I wouldn't have been to NYC in the past 10 years.
  7. https://weather.com/weather/hourbyhour/l/USOH0195:1:US Sox game will go on as planned. It will just be cold.
  8. And if you really enjoy that, there's a nice bridge on MV in Chappy that my father in law can show you...
  9. NYC is great! They have wonderful pizza, Little Italy and uh, well they also have ummmm. It's wonderful really.
  10. I'm sure the weather in Minnesota is lovely the first week of April and the last few weeks in October! With the NYC parks, you need to remember that they were really trying to save money on the construction to make sure that building a new ballpark wouldn't lead to higher priced tickets and luxury seats that people wouldn't be able to afford to sit it. I'd say it was a resounding success on both parts. I mean, there are certainly no issues in the surrounding neighborhood of Queens and an afternoon watching ball in the Bronx is a great frugal option for locals.
  11. The first 2 weeks of the season should be spent either in domed stadiums or in the warmer climate cities.
  12. Posts like these come up all the time, so I'll do my best to give some advice though searching for old threads may help you a ton. The best part about Fenway is just walking around the neighborhood on gameday. Get there early, eat a sausage, grab a beer at one of the many establishments in the area. There is also a place called The Bleacher Bar that is built into CF and provides a great view of the stadium. It's too busy right before a game, but if you go for lunch before a night game, you'll have a blast. As for the rest of Boston, just pack your walking shoes. It's a great little city and you can see most of it in one day. I'd recommend you walk the freedom trail (it sounds corny, but I always love doing this because it gets you to see some of the great historical places of Boston), grab a slice of pizza in the North End (Ernestos) and go to the Union Oyster House.
  13. If balls and strikes were automated, the game would be much faster. I'm all for this.
  14. But I heard he can't field, doesn't know how to run and can't hit offspeed pitches?
  15. Baseball is too long and too slow paced as it is. Games should be 2-2.5 hrs at most.
  16. 6 road games, he'll get 2 starts and will pinch hit in at least 2 other games.
  17. The 1b?!?!?
  18. It's the worst. "I know, let's make the game slower!!!!"
  19. I will argue against Fangraphs until I'm blue in the face.
  20. Within 30 seconds of me watching the first game of the year, they go to instant replay. f*** this....
  21. It means the arguments are pointless because you refuse to see a different point of view. You'll argue for a player no matter what contrary evidence exists.
  22. Better analogy: Tax accountant fails to read up on new tax regulations before tax season. He screws up a bunch of tax returns. The next year, he again misses his CPE's and blows up his first few returns. Would his coworkers be wrong for saying "dude, go to some trainings?" Would his clients have a right to complain?
  23. Which is why the arguments go nowhere.
