  1. One can only hope.
  2. Get the duckboats ready!
  3. Got rid of Kapstein so they could sell those seats!
  4. Escobar had more errors, smaller range factor, and lower dwar than Xander.
  5. Honestly, everyone on here is an armchair GM and manager.
  6. Kimmi going negative here. Yikes. Who would you have nominated?
  7. Pretty much. The knock on Xander was that his defense would move him off the position. It's at least nice to know that he's capable of being consistent in the field. He doesn't have amazing range or a rifle arm, but I don't wince when a ball is hit his way.
  8. Xander is a GG finalist
  9. Iortiz said the Jays won that offseason though?
  10. They don't win that year without Koji, Napoli, Ross and Victorino. Prob don't even make playoffs. Napoli saved their butts in April while Ortiz was injured. Koji was the second best player on that team. Victorino played the best RF defense since Dewey and had a bunch of clutch hits in the postseason. Ross had to play in WS over Salty due to Salty throwing the ball around the infield like it was a hot potato.
  11. But that's just me being negative, not adding anything to the conversation and scaring people off the board. Sorry guys! Silly me!
  12. I'd rather pay an ace $30M, than have signed Pablo and Hanley, but we're stuck with at least one of them. I still think Pedroia's contract is too high, but with all of these young guys in the system you have the ability to overpay here and there and not be too cash strapped. Has Buchholz's extension been signed? Trade Hanley and eat 10M per year. That's 23M savings that could go towards Price or someone else. Honestly, I still think there is one more year to go before this team truly becomes a contender. I'm worried about a few sophmore slumps.
  13. Was not directed at you. Kelly should most definitely be moved to the pen. He could be a huge plus there with his power arm.
  14. Yeah, those are some horrible keyboard GMs. The trick is just knowing which player is overvalued. Owens?
  15. I'd prefer to lose a pick or just cash. Not interested in losing any of our top prospects atm.
  16. I like the foundation, just not sold on them at 90 wins yet. If that makes me a Negative Nancy, oh well. But let's just stifle any conversation that doesn't exactly mirror your world view! Now that would be an echo chamber worth reading everyday!
  17. I guess the team didn't suck! Must have been some fever dream then!
  18. Shaw most likely can't hit like that over 162. Kelly won 8 starts in a row... Seriously, that happened. At one point, JBJ had an OPS above 1.000. And with that, they still didn't get to .500. I'm not buying it. You can't extrapolate a portion of one season and say that is how they'll play over 162 for the next. It's easy to make posts in the offseason and claim how great this team will be. Harder to stick around and post once the s*** hits the fan though, as can be noted in the meager late season game threads.
  19. Oh god no. An ace and bullpen arms? I wish... This ain't no 90 win team.
  20. Hanley, Panda, Castillo, Porcello extension - very questionable moves. Thanks for 2013. Can't win with lightning in a bottle every year though.
  21. Those schlubs? Not worth it imo.
  22. He makes Wily Mo look like Jim Edmonds.
  23. Not jinxed. Bruins are horrible this year. Only two decent defensemen. 3rd and 4th lines should be in Providence.
  24. You're talking about the Diamondbacks, right?
