@redsoxstats: ESPN has a story up: "Harvey-for-Betts would be a good fit for Mets" I have a story up: "Trout-for-Betts would be a good fit for Red Sox"
Betts and Boegarts would never be put in the same trade. Not enough of a return.
I'd rather see Boegarts traded than Betts, but preference would be to keep them both. Without getting Gray or Sale, not sure who they'd be traded for.
Harvey? Lol nope. I wouldn't trade either for Harvey.
@Ken_Rosenthal: As expected, #RedSox aggressive on multiple fronts. Chapman believed to be one. Team also could go for setup type to put in front of Uehara.
@ScottLauber: (1/2) Dombrowski on #RedSox making a big, bold move: "At some point, we're going to most likely do something that is painful. ...
Pedroia to be traded this offseason!
Imo, they should spin a lot of these unknowns into established MLers.
If the Reds are really putting everyone on the block, I'd go for Votto and Chapman without thinking twice.
We can say the farm system is remarkable now, but it's based on projections. Let's see how the guys develop over the next few years and judge Ben by production, not projections.
@jcmccaffrey: Christian Vazquez's winter ball team folded, switched teams but he won't get as many ABs. DD unsure if he'll be ready for start of season...
I can see that POV. I'd rather trade and move on. To me, moving on from Buchholz could provide more stability to this rotation. Buchholz has all the talent in the world, but his health is too much of a question mark for me.
The quote was "mediocre at worst." Recent history shows us that he can be worse than mediocre.
Honestly, he's a wild card. You just don't know what he'll give you. He's an injury risk each year who could put up CY numbers or be absolute garbage.
