  1. I can't really fault Chaim for not thinking a dying owner was going to give Bogey one of the worst contracts in baseball. Good for Bogey though.
  2. He had some injury concerns prior to '23 as well.
  3. If I'm an opposing GM, I'd consider trading for Casas, but am only giving up a very low leverage relief arm (Zack Kelly-type). There's just no value there right now after the past two years.
  4. Not to be debbie downer, but he needs to pick a position. He couldn't even get through his first season without getting injured and being a two way player is double the work. If he was to just move to SS, but do side bullpens here and there I think that's a better option than what he's trying to do now. OR move to pitching fulltime, but let him take BP and DH once a week.
  5. Romy's problem is that he can't backup SS and the Sox have two injury prone-ish SS's.
  6. Should have dealt him last offseason when he had more value.
  7. Sometimes, you can't pick your teammates.
  8. For playing in the playoffs and not reaching the 2nd CBT line by trading Devers (more important to him).
  9. A good sign, but once this round is signed, there isn't a great pipeline behind them that haven't yet appeared in BOS IMO.
  10. Their owners are pocketing so much $$$ it's ridiculous. Feel bad for the fans since they are getting ripped off by their team, not the system.
  11. Jays have a very large payroll, just gave Vlad Jr a 500M contract and tried signing Ohtani and Soto. Would people have been upset if they won?
  12. They avoided calling up Campbell this year when they really could have used him again. I think they'll will be pretty careful with him going forward.
  13. The guys that could help this season: Tolle, Early, Dobbins, Perales, Sandlin, Mullins, Campbell, Garcia. The pitchers have some question marks, but could fill in if Brezzz runs into injury issues or if the prospects continue to progress. I'm not very high on Sandlin, but he could turn it around quickly. The hitters don't really seem ready at the moment to me. I don't know how soon they'll get Campbell to MLB again, but he still has work to do and didn't really get back to the player he was in '24 whether to do injury or "losing weight" as the Sox said (not believable to me). Garcia needs more work in pitch recognition or he's just going to get eaten alive after promotion. Any injury on the offensive side of the ball is going to really hurt the Sox. They just don't have inhouse replacements ready to go.
  14. "Look, we just gotta tell those dummies we're interested in everybody and they'll believe it! Hey, we're gonna trade for a number 2! See, it worked..."
  15. He missed time in ST due to food poisoning due to his clean eating.
  16. The Story signing was an afterthought. At the time, it wasn't even considered that big of a deal to us. He's surrounded himself with yes men and young CBO's that will fall in line cheaply. He finally has what he wanted at the end of Moneyball. For forty-one million, you built a playoff team. You lost Damon, Giambi, Isringhausen, Pena and you won more games without them than you did with them. You won the exact same number of games that the Yankees won, but the Yankees spent one point four million per win and you paid two hundred and sixty thousand. I know you've taken it in the teeth out there, but the first guy through the wall. It always gets bloody, always. It's the threat of not just the way of doing business, but in their minds it's threatening the game. But really what it's threatening is their livelihoods, it's threatening their jobs, it's threatening the way that they do things. And every time that happens, whether it's the government or a way of doing business or whatever it is, the people are holding the reins, have their hands on the switch. They go bat s*** crazy. I mean, anybody who's not building a team right and rebuilding it using your model, they're dinosaurs. Dude thinks he's a revolutionary because he pockets money.
  17. Zero chance Bleis is protected. He wouldn't see time in BOS until late '27 at the earliest and then would be out of options in '28. Waste of a roster spot.
  18. Harper has an MVP in WSH and one in PHL. Time to get one in BOS!
  19. 1B Okamoto 2B Rojas SS Mayer 3B Bregman Use savings to sign Cease to short term deal?
  20. I think it will all blow over and Harper retires as a Phil. Would he be willing to be traded? Probably to BOS. Probably a big NO to COL.
