  1. He has a .083 BA in the postseason. Would rather be golfing. Sad. #nevertrout
  2. Due to our crack beat writers, there has been no mention of him for about a week since Farrell said that the team has “to be careful” with his rehab.
  3. O'Sullivan's career WAR is -2.3. He's a veteran AAAA starter. There really weren't. No one said the market for Buchholz was sky high, just that he is an asset that has value. He's a perfectly adequate starter with a reasonable contract (only $13M!).
  4. Acquiring a temporary replacement for LF, until Young comes back, is basically GM'ing 101. It should be easy to find a guy like that. Promoting Benintendi to do that is just a panic move, imo.
  5. Couldn't even win a series against the Twins. Farrell is a rollercoaster ride. The Sox need a steadier hand, which Lovullo seemed to wield last year. There's no downside to moving on from Farrell, a guy that has shown horrible instincts both on and off the field.
  6. Who praised him the first year? He lucked into a WS and made a ton of weird moves when he got there. People sang Ben's praises in 2013 and rightfully so. I don't remember anyone saying Farrell was above average. And if people are hot for Lovullo because Farrell leaves a lot to be desired, great!
  7. Lovullo is as good as Farrell if not better. Keeping Farrell on is just a sign of complacency imo.
  8. He's going all in. Panic move? Feeding the monster? If they don't win the WS, his tenure will be a failure.
  9. Over the last 4 seasons, Buch's earned an average value of $13.4M according to the Fangraphs Tribune. 2016 is a lost year. There's a good chance he'll have a very productive season next year.
  10. Trout is content with playing for a loser. He'd shrink under the spotlight. No thanks.
  11. 1. $13M is a good value for a veteran starter 2. With Buchholz, you either get a crappy year or a great half year. It looks like 2017 we'll be in line for a great half year (2013 great, 2014 poo, 2015 really good, 2016 poo, 2017 amazingness). 3. You can sign him and move him in a trade if you'd like. New for this year: 4. The FA market stinks.
  12. Oh, I'd send the Kopech today if they'd take it. I just don't think he commands a return of Benintendi or Moncada anymore.
  13. If they trade any of the following, I'm OUT on Dombrowski: Xander, Betts, JBJ. If they trade either Moncada or Benintendi for anything but a true ace, I would also be out on Dombrowski. I'm fine with them moving anyone else in the organization.
  14. Sonny Gray is not "something big" right now except for his ERA.
  15. No, it's true. I'm not ticked off or annoyed about this stuff.
  16. I'm not ticked off about anything. You guys clearly know nothing about me. All the reasons that made Clay's option a no brainer last year are true this year. If they picked it up last year, they'll pick it up this year too, imo. I disagree with their logic, but they'll do it.
  17. You'd be one of the few people on here who doesn't.
  18. I haven't either. I'm just saying that as far as we know, there is no injury. Maybe there is a concern that has Farrell limiting Buch's usage that isn't performance related.
  19. Anyone worried about character issues with Sale? Or you think he just hates playing for the ChiSox?
  20. "As far as you know" he's not injured. They are grabbing that option.
  21. He's a good value because of his upside. You bring him in and he's due for at least a good half year.
  22. They'll pick up his option. It's a no brainer.
  23. Benintendi's OPS in AA is .808. Let's not act like this guy is ready for MLB pitching just yet or that he is producing the way Betts was at the same level.
  24. He needed more than a week to adjust. Plus, his bat has cooled off lately.
