  1. No, they are poorer than you think. Being duped by Madoff wrecked them.
  2. If someone can just drop Lyons in a bottomless pit, I'd never complain again.
  3. I enjoy everything except for mowing the lawn (allergies).
  4. One was helping with his mini-tools and john deere tractor. The other was napping.
  5. I agree with this. Players aren't robots and MLB guys are creatures of habit.
  6. So much yardwork... Went to plant sale. Fixed up my shade garden. Lots of mowing and cleanup. Afternoon games are tough to watch when you have two young kids.
  7. Kelly >>>> "No-brainer" Buchholz
  8. Don't give me that fangraphs trash. He had a negative war in 2014 according to baseball ref.
  9. A waste of a rotation spot.
  10. I call BS. You clearly didn't know what you meant when you posted originally...
  11. I guess I can't comment on Matt Harvey having a s***** year since I don't watch the Mets. Makes no sense...
  12. I know that if a batter swings and misses a pitch and it hits him, it is a dead ball strike. However, what happens if he swings at the pitch and it hits his hand? Is his hand considered an extension of the bat and the ball is live, or is it a dead ball strike because it hit the body? Thanks, -- T. Albertina Layne: Well, let me ask you a question. If he puts a bat in his hand, and he drops it, is his hand going to drop with the bat or his hand going to stick to his body? So is his hand part of the bat? So, it's kind of common sense. If he gets hit in the hands, that's his body, if he gets hit in his bat, that's his bat. And if he swings, he doesn't go to first base when he gets hit.
  13. As long as he still gets work in at C, it should be ok.
  14. If he hits well and plays decent LF, does his trade value still go down?
  15. Yup, this should be in the gamethread.
  16. 3 years above 120 innings. Pathetic.
  17. W/L%? Is this 1985?!?
  18. Paul Swydan is the managing editor of The Hardball Times, a writer and editor for FanGraphs and a writer for Boston.com. He has written for The Boston Globe, ESPN MLB Insider and ESPN the Magazine, among others. Follow him on Twitter @Swydan. Damn you Fangraphs! Damn you to Hell!!!
  19. Who the hell is Paul Swyden?
  20. Ben doesn't get my dander up. I think he and Theo did a great job. They just whiffed on the major signings that were most likely pressured on them by ownership.
  21. I appreciate that you guys are standing by your man, I just can't do it. It physically repulses me to have him on this team. Yes, it's probably associated with some mental disorder on my part...
