To me, it's like saying "Kalish would have never been injured if he was up in Boston and not playing in Pawtucket" (an argument posters used to make on here). The you never knows and the maybes and all the wishful thinking in the world doesn't help an argument. It'd be like if I said "well, if there were robot umps 15 years ago, maybe the Sox would have 5 WS, not 3."
I agree that he should be given more time. However, if he can't figure it out in Pawtucket, there is little reason to think he'll figure it out anywhere else. He was a lottery ticket and you don't win on every one.
