  1. That 2011 rotation was in such disarray that the media was clamoring for Bruce Chen to be brought in to pitch a one game playoff if they won game 162. Bruce Chen. I'm not sure his name has been said on WEEI since that date.
  2. He's not a plus defender in CF. No way.
  3. To me, he was "capable" but not "ready."
  4. I'm just saying that he's not entirely ready right now. Maybe his few miscues just resonate too much with me?
  5. And now that he has succeeded at AA, he's being given reps at 3b. Seems perfectly reasonable to me. I think the Sox are being smart in how they are handling Moncada considering that investment they paid to acquire him and the fact that he could be a generational talent if developed properly.
  6. 1 year for playoff appearance 2 years for ALCS championship 3 years for WS championship I'm ok with that.
  7. Is that a real thing though? It's not like Sandy was wandering around in the back playing Pokemon.
  8. I'd rather a one game playoff and have Farrell back next year than have them miss the playoffs and get a new manager next year.
  9. No he wasn't. He's still a work in progress there.
  10. Around here, the concern was that he left starters in for too long (i.e. 7 run rule). I never complained about Tito as it was painfully obvious that he new more about baseball than all of us combined.
  11. The equation was: Clubhouse Chemistry + Cancer + WS Ring - Last Place Finishes - Dalliance with Reporter = 1 more year This offseason it could be: Clubhouse Chemistry + Cancer + WS Ring - Last Place Finishes - Dalliance with Reporter - No Playoffs when going All In = Unemployment Line
  12. Really? I've heard he's amazing at the off field stuff and that it's the only reason he even has a job.
  13. I think with Moncada, the worry was that they wanted to make his transition as comfortable as possible. Leaving him at his normal position was done to not already pile on the huge adjustments he was making (culture, language, finances, etc.). I think they wanted to get him to succeed at each level before they threw a wrench in there.
  14. In the past, he has openly complained about hitting leadoff. I heard that Farrell sat Pedey, Xander and Mookie down to explain why he wanted to shift the guys around and to get them all to buy in. It seems to have worked.
  15. I wouldn't trade any more prospects for relievers. You can make a case that you'd do it for your closer, but not sure you'd do it for a set up guy. Should be able to fill in bullpen with FA and minor league guys. I think Hembree should have a much bigger part next year.
  16. Please, don't use coded language like that. Words matter.
  17. I'm ashamed that you have not created a Wins Above Ellsbury stat.
  18. http://www.mbta.com/schedules_and_maps/subway/lines/stations/?stopId=15598 Yup, Riverside is probably your best bet.
  19. Where will you be staying?
  20. You sonnavubitch... *stares back, spits mouthful of chew on the ground
  21. Is Ian Kinsler HOF worthy? If not, neither is Pedroia. http://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/jaws_2B.shtml Chase Utley? Idk. He's probably the borderline for me. If Pedroia can get his career numbers above Utley's, I think he has a good chance of getting in.
  22. If your problem is solely with word choice, I don't know what to tell you.
  23. Opposing views are not allowed of forums. They must be shouted down with condescension.
  24. Sorry bub, but your team won so you are not allowed to criticize the manager.
  25. Rabble rabble rabble!!!
