  1. His arm is better than Damon's. I think you're misremembering how bad Damon's arm was.

  3. So, if he gets hurt in the 3rd inning, someone is going to complain that he should have been pinch run for? I doubt it. If there's a chance that he'll get another AB in the game, you don't pinch run for him. Even if it's the 7th inning, I'm not sure you would pinch run for Ortiz. 8th or 9th? Sure.
  4. He's 5th in the league in innings pitched. Seems to be that he's one of the best at pitching late in games.
  5. Why? It was the 6th inning, not the 8th or 9th.
  6. There were other options available. There's no such thing as professional courtesy in MLB. They don't have to be beholden to any of that nonsense.
  7. You are really into Farrell's off field management. I think bringing Papelbon in would really test that. He's not a likable person and actively tries to annoy his teammates. Maybe he'd straighten up and fly right because it's his last chance? I don't see it though.
  8. The Tigers biggest issue was an owner who wanted to have a say in which players were to be signed (hello Fielder overpay). The owner there was actively going against the GM's wishes. For now, it looks like Boston's ownership group is just giving Dombrowski free reign.
  9. The Tigers were a perennial doormat before Dombrowski came on. Not really sure they are "better" without him.
  10. He'll be a plus defender in LF sometime next year. He just needs the reps. My only point is that he's not there right now.
  11. He's a guy with great stuff and ace level ceiling. They don't grow on trees.
  12. Right after his good start, a ton of B level media were throwing shade on his performance. I don't get it. Some people will NEVER be happy about that trade no matter how it turns out.
  13. He's definitely thriving in the swing role. If you keeps pitching well, you can guarantee that the option will be picked up again.
  14. That doesn't mean he should keep his job over a robot.
  15. This bullpen sux! This is on DD!
  16. Doesn't want Papi running the bases. Good decision on his part imo. #JohnFarrelled
  17. Sucks to your "no wipeout pitch."
  18. Is Betts HOF worthy?
  19. My heart hurts about this.
  20. @scottlauber The fact that Farrell reached out to Papelbon would indicate the #RedSox are very interested. Sounds like they're waiting on his decision.
  21. Oh s***! He looked at me! Better dive at the bag like sea lion trying to get on the docks.
