  1. The only problem is that his changeup and slider are basically the same speed.
  2. http://www.latimes.com/sports/sportsnow/la-sp-sn-scouting-director-cardinals-astros-20160718-snap-story.html MLB could discipline the Cardinals, possibly with a fine or a loss of draft picks, but has said only that it looked forward to getting details on the case from federal authorities. "Now that the criminal process has been completed, Commissioner [Rob] Manfred has asked the Department of Investigations to conduct a complete investigation of the facts in this matter, including requesting information from the appropriate law enforcement authorities," the league said. "The commissioner hopes that the investigation can be completed promptly to put him in a position to take appropriate action." I think what happened was the Astros complained about the hack and the FBI stepped in before MLB did any real investigation. The hacks occured during the draft and at the trade deadline. I think they should lose a few draft picks next season.
  3. If the Cards get punished less severely than the Sox did, you'd have to wonder about the person calling the shots.
  4. It means he takes the ball every 5th day and we wouldn't have to rely on the AAA scrubs. He's probably a better get than Sonny Gray at this point. Is he better than ERod? http://www.fangraphs.com/statsd.aspx?playerid=3200&position=P
  5. You're referencing the wrong AGon trade. The trade that dupree and A700 were talking about was the trade to bring him to the Red Sox, not the one to trade him to the Dodgers. To me, they should have kept Rizzo and not signed Crawford. Signing Crawford to play LF is one of the most confusing signings of the past decade. Signing Pablo after already grabbing Hanley is a close second.
  6. Don't complain to me when the Orioles pick him up in the offseason and he's in the All Star game next year.
  7. We are destined to do this forever.
  8. Nothing written by Bill Simmons is a must read.
  9. That sounds like a terrible affliction. I'm sorry.
  10. Well, Damon actually doesn't want to come back if you remember his Tigers days.
  11. He's not really a fastball pitcher anyway. He throws a good mix with the majority of his pitches being offspeed this year.
  12. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=3200&position=P#pitchtype It's averaging 92.5, so it's not a concern. He seems to be the same pitcher he's always been.
  13. If he hits .240, he's better than Leon. He's a 27 year old catcher coming into his own. Is it that big of a surprise that he could be a moderate starter? Suzuki is 5 years older and has way more mileage on him.
  14. Sure it is. Why wouldn't they pick him up. His upside is better than anyone that will be better as a FA. Might as well keep him, unless they can move him for a better guy.
  15. I guess I have too much other nonsense to worry about in my life than wondering if the Yankees are doing ok.
  16. I'd rather Hannigan and Leon than Suzuki. Suzuki can hit a little better, but his glove is way worse imo.
  17. That's why watching the scoreboard in July doesn't make much sense to me. If the Sox are playing well, they should be in the hunt come September. Worrying if they are 2 or 3 games back and fretting over every Orioles win just seems like a waste to me.
  18. If he's on the team come August 1, his option will be picked up. It's a no brainer at this point. He's due for a good solid half season next year. If you add that in with a replacement level pitcher, you get a solid starter.
  19. He got out pitched by Bumbgarner and Tanaka! He must stink!
  20. Buchholz straight up for Santana? Maybe they don't see any of their starters being ready until late 2018/early 2019? If that's the case, then I guess you do it since the FA market is pretty dismal this year.
  21. Would be stuck with him through 2018. Blech.
  22. @redsoxstats Michael Kopech has four swinging strikeouts through two innings in Salem, sitting around 98-100 mph.
  23. Your point makes no sense as Gonzelez was brought in before Crawford was signed.
  24. Yup. Right after pitch #1.
