Trashed the place. They downgraded to Porcello from Lester. They downgraded from Lackey to Kelly. The moves they made in 2014 and offseason of 2015 trashed the place.

They won the WS and then went back to back with last place finishes. They trashed the place. Lester for Porcello - downgrade Miller for ERod - downgrade Lackey for Kelly and Craig - downgrade Peavy for Edwin Escobar and Hembree - whatever Edwin Escobar was seen as the key to that Hembree trade and the guy was DFA'd. They basically lucked into an ok bullpen arm.

Not a chance. He's a career .256 OBP guy and didn't even get to .300 last year in Pawtucket.

They'd be eating $42M+ for 18-19 on Sandoval's contract and $22M for one year of Hanley's salary. Granted, they are basically eating all of Castillo's contract while he putters around Pawtucket.

My earliest baseball memories surround collecting 1981 Topps cards when I was 4. The first Sox card I ever got was Dick Drago and it was my favorite card for a long time. The first time I went to Fenway was the summer of 1984 for an Oil Can Boyd start. http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/BOS/BOS198406300.shtml This was around the same time that I really because super into card collecting and watching Sox games. Jim Rice was basically a super hero to me. I even ended up getting this cool trash can a few years later.

Also, please just chose the time period you first remember being a fan (i.e. while there are pictures of me in diapers and a Sox hat, I'm only counting when I actually went to Fenway, collected cards and watched the Sox on tv).
