  1. Imo, the Sox don't have to pull their hair over starting the clock. Their owners aren't struggling to make payroll.
  2. Holy s***. I didn't have time to watch any of the weekend games. Is that the lineup they are using now? It'd look better if Devers was 9th.
  3. Teddy Ballgame - DH Babe Ruth - C (actually started career there) Stan the Man - 1b Hammerin Hank - 2b Machado - SS Mays - 3B Cobb - LF Trout - CF Harper - RF Clemente - UTIL
  4. @PeteAbe Bradley was hitting .222/.271/.315 after 16 games in ‘16 and made the All-Star team. He has played 16 games this season. Yet out again.
  5. A gif of every Beni HR.
  6. @IanCundall After seeing him last night I would not be surprised if RHP Hector Velazquez gets a look should the #RedSox 5th starter slot remain an issue Obviously, Kendrick was only brought up because of his contract.
  7. http://www.espn.com/blog/eric-karabell/insider/post?id=8138 The drumbeats are getting louder!
  8. I'd be really happy if the Yanks went back to signing everyone. It makes their postseason failures more enjoyable and would add more heat to the rivalry.
  9. JBJ is good for one great month. 2015: 5/10 - 8/8 146 BABIP and 426 OPS 8/9 - 9/7 577 BABIP and 1441 OPS 9/8 - 10/4 173 BABIP and 510 OPS 2016: 4/5 - 5/4 348 BABIP and 792 OPS 5/5 - 5/30 400 BABIP and 1232 OPS 6/1 - 9/30 289 BABIP and 765 OPS Right now he's hitting like the bad parts of 2015. If he was back to hitting like the cooler months from 2016, we wouldn't be complaining right now.
  10. On the basis that #'s 2-6 have less service time and are further away from FA. It would be interesting to see where he'd be ranked if they all had the same service time. Lindor, Bryant, Seager, Rizzo and Correa are monster talents though. Trout is #1 and has similar service time to Mookie. I wouldn't trade Mookie for Trout because of the increased salary. Trout is a far better player, but Mookie is a huge bargain for what he does.
  11. Then we'd get lovely Wacko Jacko posts like "Ellsbury is made of glass. He'll be having season ending surgery tomorrow." Now we just get "don't worry, he'll turn it around soon. His arm stinks and he's an overrated fielder, but he can still hit and kinda run! Not terrible if you ask me!"
  12. I hope he doesn't think believe it's "unthinkable" since he did it twice last year.
  13. Old Milwaukee style? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eO9kbxclV94
  14. Betts to Dodgers for Bellinger, Urias, Alvarez and Toles.
  15. Thanks Ben!
  16. And having a day off afterwards certainly helped.
  17. As well as how much time it takes for a reliever to get warmed up.
  18. http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2017/05/08/craig-kimbrel-has-been-simply-overpowering-far/QAi3nn2KoIHwb8PXwHAp8M/story.html More Kimbrel goodness.
  19. http://www.espn.com/mlb/stats/team/_/stat/batting/sort/homeRuns/order/true Sox are now tied for second to last place. OPS is 8th though. That's good enough for me.
  20. https://www.outsidepitchmlb.com/boston-red-sox-elite-craig-kimbrel/68736 And people still while about him.
  21. @PeteAbe Re: Devers being named EL Player of the Week: Dave Dombrowski was in Portland this weekend watching him. Boioioioioing...
  22. In less than half a season, he went 288/15/54. It was his best defensive year too. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=7002&position=3B
  23. Selsky is the only OF on the 40 man roster not currently playing in Boston. The other two starters at Pawtucket are Castillo (not being promoted in a 1,000,000 years) and Aneury Tavarez. Tavarez was the guy the O's picked in the Rule V draft but had to return. He was mashing AA pitching as a 25 year old. He has decent speed, but the Sox basically refuse to play him in CF. He's only had 4 starts in Pawtucket. He went 5 for 8 in his first 2 games with 2 HRs. He's been 0 for 10 ever since. In order for him to be called up, he'd have to really start mashing. He'd be an interesting call up, but if they aren't interested in playing him in CF, his value is diminished.
