  1. The umpire sucked for both teams last night. That k zone was embarrassing.
  2. If Kimbrel is up and warming with a 4 run lead he's panicky. If Kimbrel is sitting on his butt while Kelly is letting runners on he's an idiot. As long as Farrell doesn't manage the pen the way Bannister did with Dyson last night, I'm ok with it.
  3. If this team continues to play better and gets into the playoffs, Farrell should stay even if it's one and done in the WC game.
  4. Streaking to save Farrell's job!
  5. Sale made the call here most likely.
  6. Nap with 2nd drop. But Mitch's D!!!!
  7. Great job by Farrell. Good PH calls.
  8. Travis with his 1st hit.
  9. Francona Williams Little Morgan McNamara Farrell Kennedy Kerrigan Hobson Valentine Basically right in the middle, which is what I think of him as a manager.
  10. Well that's dumb. I'm fine with a platoon, nothing more.
  11. He's also had enough last place finishes to raise my eyebrows.
  12. Since when is giving a guy a few days off a panic move? I don't see the problem in trying to ease your #3 prospect onto the MLB squad.
  13. I'm just stating a fact that he less more power against LHP. You can check his career stats to see it as well.
  14. 6% XBH per PA vs LHP. 14.5% XBH per PA vs RHP.
  15. I think there are managers deserving of a lot of money (Madden, Bochy, Francona, Showalter). Farrell is not one of them. I'm sure his pay is adequate enough.
  16. Bard's career hasn't been at a crossroads since he was let go from the Sox, it's just been circling the drain.
  17. That's based on player salaries, not manager salaries who are generally paid far less than the players.
  18. http://www.csnne.com/boston-red-sox/evan-drellich-boston-red-sox-players-need-accountability-instead-of-blaming-john-farrell Media is trying to rally around Farrell and save his job. It's obvious where some people get their info. Fun quote: Where’s the guy in the clubhouse standing up to the media with any consistency? There’s no voice that regularly shields the younger, less experienced guys in the room from tough but expected questions after losses. Dustin Pedroia gets dressed and leaves the clubhouse faster than Chris Sale will get the ball back and throw it Wednesday. I agree that the players are at fault too, but isn't it Farrell's job to make sure that veterans are being the leaders they need to be? If it isn't, then what are they paying Farrell for? Pitching changes and setting the lineup? I thought the Sox always said there is more to managing than just on field stuff?
  19. And if Travis looks good now, maybe the Sox will be ok with giving him the fulltime gig next year.
  20. You wouldn't pay a babysitter that much?
  21. He's getting on base due to a higher walk rate vs lefties, but I don't know if that's sustainable for him. His power vs lefties is basically nonexistent. I'm fine with the platoon.
  22. BS 2 out runs here!
  23. Ken Rosenthal should be hung by his bowtie. I only posted it as it was a big topic elsewhere.
  24. @alexspeier Sam Travis on how he can help the Red Sox: 'I'd like to think I can hit.' HOF
  25. Hell no! We'd have barely any cap room after that deal!
