  1. I think they want to go with an all LHP rotation if possible so Pom will stick around a bit longer. They just need to move Porcello (who is a bum and could never have an ERA below 4.50).
  2. Even though other posters are worried about using up cap space, I agree with you. This pen lost Koji, Tax, Buchholz AND Ziegler and only grabbed one new guy. They are really rolling the dice that Hembree, Abad and Kelly will provide a lot of value.
  3. Well, I hope you have a wonderful hobby that helps to alleviate any stress in your life. Fortunately, I enjoy fantasy baseball and it doesn't stress me out.
  4. My pitching crapped out in the playoffs. I didn't throw any chairs and blame small sample sizes and randomness like Billy Beane though. It was because my chakras were not aligned.
  5. The more weight you lose, the more prominent your cauliflower ear becomes. It's strictly to scare the other opponents and for leverage to a lesser extent (i.e. the cauliflower ear can act as a lever).
  6. I expect him to be on the roster in 2018. All I've ever said was that if that I'd put him in AAA for a quick promotion to Boston IF there was a need due to injury AND he was exceeding his previous performance (i.e. playing like Beni or Moncada in AA).
  7. Please, it's not 2016 anymore. Let's bury the dead already. This one stings too much.
  8. Wright has a poor track record of pitching out of the pen. http://www.fangraphs.com/statsplits.aspx?playerid=8185&position=P&season=0&split=8.2 He is far more consistent when starting. http://www.fangraphs.com/statsplits.aspx?playerid=8185&position=P&season=0&split=8.1
  9. The following conditions in which Wright is useless: 1. too humid 2. a chance of rain 3. his one pitch isn't working I feel like Wright is perfectly fine as a #5, but using him multiple times a week in high leverage situations isn't the best fit for him. Pom AND Wright will both be in the rotation. Farrell has confirmed this.
  10. Kimmi, I'd be willing to cover half of your league fees if you joined.
  11. I like fantasy because it gets me to be more involved with other teams. That way, I don't feel like the visiting 25 man roster is a group of entire strangers when I'm watching a Sox game. In terms of setting rosters, I probably look at my roster 2-3 times a week. I also don't think you necessarily have to think about it that much prior to the draft. The more research you do, the more confusing the draft process becomes.
  12. I don't think anyone wants to see Wright (a one pitch pitcher) in high leverage situations out of the pen. That sounds like a disaster to me.
  13. Wright has no options right now. We are all just spitballing. However, Farrell has stated that he would include Wright and Pomeranz in the rotation right now. Maybe that's why they were unconcerned about ERod's knee? Maybe they thought he'd begin the season in AAA anyway (2 options remaining)?
  14. If Devers is in Boston, it's due to both multiple injuries on the MLB roster and Devers turning into 2016 Beni/Moncada. If Devers has a typical year where it takes him a little while to get up to speed, I don't think he'll be anywhere close to an MLB roster this year.
  15. If an injury to a SP occurs, I don't want to have to hear about nonsense like "well, now we need to build Wright's arm strength back up so that he can start." I don't believe he has a high ceiling sitting in the bullpen, so I'd rather him just working on his stuff in AAA than being used in blowouts.
  16. I don't really want Wright or ERod hanging out in the pen. If Pomeranz is in the rotation, either Wright or ERod should be starting in AAA.
  17. IF Longhi gets a power stroke... And at 1B, Longhi requires a bigger bat. Even then, Devers won the Sox farm defensive player of the year award. I don't think they are really that close.
  18. Yes, there is a set draft day with bench spots. You play head to head for a week against another team. You get a point for each category you win for that entire week (hits, rbi, k's, WHIP, saves, etc). You set your lineup each day. Biggest difference to fantasy football is that you are looking at your lineup almost daily rather than once a week.
  19. Devers is clearly the future at 3B. Otherwise, they wouldn't have traded Moncada. He may be closer than we realize.
  20. Yes, I'll be in for this year again.
  21. Coffee should always be black, especially your average cup o' joe at the diner down the street. However, coffee at Dunkies can only be consumed with cream and sugar because their black coffee is gross. Honey Dew's black coffee is great though.
  22. Roasted coffee smells great. I understand the complaints from the people near the new Sriracha plant, but complaining about roasted coffee is like being annoyed at being close to the chocolate factory.
  23. If Devers can handle AA, I don't think AAA will be all that much more difficult. The prevailing theory is that AAA is just a stop over for guys you can put on an MLB squad once they've proven themselves in AA. The best players tend to skip AA or at least not have too many AB's.
  24. HanRam's problem wasn't that he was out of shape and unable to play anymore. HanRam's problem was that he was put in LF, where former teammates said he would fail. AGon suggested that he'd do great at 1B because he would be more focused. The Sox moved him to 1B in ST. There was lots of fretting on here about whether or not he could catch popups or if he'd even be adequate. Well, there was one amazing poster who stated from day one that he'd be better than everyone's expectations at 1B. I wonder whatever happened to him...
