    Why would you average it out? It's not like the Sox can give JD Martinez a contract from 2006. Average player salary was 65% higher in 2015 than in 2005.

We’ve seen it before with huge contracts trading hands in deals that, before their consummation, would have been thought impossible to pull off. So even though this seems daunting, it could absolutely happen. And Stanton is an amazing player who would look fantastic in the middle of the Red Sox batting order. So the Red Sox should explore things with the Marlins. And they will. But in the end, wouldn’t it be easier to skip all the above and give J.D. Martinez $175 million, check off that box, and move on with your offseason?

    When Price met with Andrews and Neal ElAttrache on Thursday, they both expressed shock at the relatively strong state of the elbow. It’s found a way to kind of heal itself,'" Price said. "It’s pretty neat, bionic elbow,” Perhaps it is that bionic elbow that allowed Price to lead baseball in innings pitched last year. It is such a great elbow. Bigly elbow.

    I think they were looking at Owens to see if he'd throw well in the fall/winter. He's been s*****. They should cut bait. Even if he could locate (which he can't) he's probably no better than a 4th starter.

    Archer is the only guy I'd be interested in. Maybe replace JBJ with Kiermaier. Longoria is on the back 9 and would cost too much.

    I think Mars and Beeks should be kept around. The third slot could probably go to whoever (Haley/Martin/Cosart).

    They had no problem letting Tavarez go last year. Same will probably happen this year too. I
