  1. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/mlb/5434/giancarlo-stanton According to Jon Morosi of MLB Network, Giancarlo Stanton's representatives have provided the Marlins with a list of teams where he'd accept a trade. Nothing is confirmed, but Morosi hears that some teams pursuing Stanton believe that the Dodgers are his first choice and he won't accept a trade anywhere until there's some clarity with the situation. Of course, Stanton is from the Los Angeles area. It remains to be seen if the enthusiasm is mutual here, as the Dodgers are already paying the luxury tax. Meanwhile, Stanton has 10 years and $295 million remaining on his contract. Most expect the Marlins will have to pay down some of the contract, but they might not mind doing that with the Dodgers, who have a strong farm system. The Giants and Cardinals have been mentioned most prominently among interested clubs in the early part of the Hot Stove. Nov 27 - 1:41 PM
  2. Let me tell you the tale of the gyro ball.
  3. Also, "Bosoxinjection" is NOT a valid news source.
  4. Why, will he be shooting guns with Chapman?
  5. That link is old. All the newer info reveals they have a lot less to use. They started with $4.75M, added with the Longhi trade, but still spent over $7M already. http://www.soxprospects.com/international.htm
  6. It'd be great to sign him, but we don't have enough International $$$ to bring him here. Why would he sign a 3-4 year deal with the Sox for $462k/year? I believe the Yanks and Twins can offer over 7 times that amount.
  7. Guess last week was a good time for me to go on vacation and not check Talksox!
  8. He's only pitched out of the pen 5 times in his entire professional career. If he's in the pen, it'll be in AAA.
  9. More of a DFA option than a depth option at this point.
  10. Can we stick to the baseball talk and leave the political nonsense out of here? Otherwise, I will drive to our overlord's house and wrest control of this site from his capitalist hands to install a complete socialist Talksox site where everyone shares post totals and we can all enjoy our misery equally.
  11. They don’t want less tho. They want much more. That’s why I want JD instead.
  12. Not true at all. A simple check at former mvps list a few players that were paid less than Pedroia at contract signing time (Rollins among others). Let’s just make s*** up tho!
  13. He was the 2nd highest paid 2b when the ink dried.
  14. It wasn’t under market when he it was signed.
  15. "I'm sick of the negativity," Stanton admitted. "Anything positive I've done, there's still negativity. I'm doing this … but the owner’s doing that. I'm doing this, but the team's doing that." https://www.thescore.com/news/1352579 Any worry that he won't be able to deal with the Boston market?
  16. I think HanRam is gone sooner or later. It's about time Stanton learned to play 1B. It would only help him in FA when he opts out in a few years. I think he doesn't want the DH stink on him.
  17. Giancarlo Stanton put on a show for the ages Monday night in San Diego, sending a record 61 baseballs over the fence at Petco Park to win the 2016 MLB Home Run Derby. The Miami Marlins outfielder bashed 24 homers in a quarterfinal rout of Robinson Cano, 17 in the semis to knock off Mark Trumbo (who more than held his own and was the only player to hit a ball off the left field video board) and another 20 in the finals to eliminate defending champ Todd Frazier. Stanton also had the eight longest home runs of the evening and 20 of the longest 21. It was an awe-inspiring performance to say the least, and even Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, a former Derby champ himself, couldn’t believe what he was watching. “What you saw right there,” Ortiz said while being interview by ESPN’s broadcast team during the competition, “that ain’t human.” The retiring Red Sox star also coined a new nickname for Stanton: “the Human Avatar.”
  18. I'd prefer if they just handed Stanton a 1B mitt.
  19. If they trade Beni for Stanton, Stanton easily fits into LF. If they trade JBJ for Stanton, does Beni get moved to CF? Beni to RF and Mookie to CF?
  20. FranCOMA
  21. @GlobeChadFinn Jeter is going to trade Stanton to the Yankees, isn't he? http://www.bostonglobe.com/sports/redsox/2017/11/15/whiffs-real-possibility-red-sox-chase-free-agent-sluggers/uwuIbxQzq3sIKo31jPnW5H/story.html … via @BostonGlobe If this happens, Thunder should be permanently banned from making gamethreads due to his Jeter fandom.
  22. The gyroball was too good to pass up.
  23. There's nothing he could have done about it!!! It's Sale's fault for not being able to throw 300 innings.

  25. @NBC10_Joe A source tells me that the #RedSox are still very much in play for Giancarlo Stanton. In fact the only reason that he was not hot on Boston right away is because of the cold weather. His top choice is the Dodgers, then the Giants after that if they can put together a contender. Someone let him know that average gametime temps are colder in SF than BOS!
