  1. Crochet only played in 23 games in that case. Trade Crochet for two more Durans!
  2. I haven't really seen what he looks like since TJS. I have him well behind the other guys due his upcoming 40 man issues. Not much development time left for him!
  3. Only 2 of the top 20 FA SP's have signed as of today (Cease and Ponce). Unless you are very concerned that Ponce got away, I think Brezzz should be given a little time.
  4. I suspect that's what the Sox are thinking as well.
  5. Houck and Whitlock were two of their best arms. You want your best arms pitching in as many innings as possible. Whitlock wasn't starting because he was cheap, but because he had a starter's frame and repertoire. He's making more money because of his extension than if he was getting an ARB.
  6. Due to the high cost of pitching around the league, I think it makes sense to hold onto the high ceiling guys like Tolle and Early considering the cost/control. It's why I'm also hesitant to move Witherspoon right now without seeing him.
  7. Lester after 35IP: 7 GS, 7.96 k/9, 2.89 ERA Gabbard first season: 7 G, 5.26 k/9, 3.66 ERA Which to pick? Which to pick? Hmmm... 🤔
  8. I remember Kason Gabbard, but I think my impression was much smaller than that of yours (especially when you looked at the MiLB numbers).
  9. Carrabis isn't the media, he's a supahfan.
  10. Scouts like what Ponce did last year. Merrill Kelly popped over in the same league. 🫠
  11. I don't believe so. What he's working on is building up muscle in the gym so that he can stay healthy per Cora.
  12. That was after missing time on the IL.
  13. I definitely depends on how the Sox spend and where he plays. If he's at 2b, I think the position will be better off overall due to his defense. At 3b, there will be a dropoff. I'd assume there'd be a big signing for 1b in that case though.
  14. If you are a journeyman struggling in MLB, go overseas to get paid. Wild.
  15. Ragans Sept '25: 3 GS, 13 IP, 22 K, 0.76 WHIP
  16. Yeah, I'm sure every team that has ever coached him has tried to work with him on not striking out so much. Just saying "here's some ways to do it as you transition to the hardest league in the world" is a bit of a stretch. If he k'd about 30% in NPB, he's going to k about 35% in MLB. For qualified batters, Ryan McMahon led MLB at 32.3% last season. His strike out comp is probably Patrick Wisdom who is now playing for the Kia Tigers in Korea.
  17. Valdez was so great, the Sox wanted to try him out at every position!
  18. Yup. They were slow on a lot of MLBers (Meidroth, Hamilton, Vazquez).
  19. And left handed in Fenway. Not ideal for a Murakami landing spot.
  20. He's a 2/3 WAR guy today. The problem is that he won't be in a few years. The problem is the sheer length of the deal, not what he's currently being paid.
