In 33% of all Red Sox plate appearances they have taken a called strike in the zone on the first pitch. Next most is 29%. MLB average 27%.
Sounds about right to me.
He's basically the same exact player he was at 29 statistically, except now he added 20 more dingers somehow. He could be Brandon Moss. He could Bautista. Hard to say for sure.
They've shown that they want Young as the 4th OF for better or worse. I think Margot would have been included in some other trade regardless.
Guerra stinks and was overhyped.
Logan Allen could be good, but is still far away.
He goes in extended slumps and isn't a very good fielder. This year's numbers may be an abberation.
If the money is right, it could be a good chance to take.
This is very true. I think we are all hopeful that Betts/JBJ/Benny are truly franchise players. We just won't know for a few more years. A lot of players have had great starts to their careers and have disappeared. The real test of the organization is to see how they handle extending these young guys. They'll need to move on from the overrated ones and sign the really good ones. It'll be interesting to see.
I have family in Tampa and Port St Lucie. Hope yours is doing ok.
