Sure, but I think saying "his growing curve could seriously damage our ring hopes" is a bit much. It's a fairly minor issue.

The media story was overblown for sure. However, I think stuff like that really impacts the clubhouse and these guys need to get along if they are going to be around each other every day for 9 straight months.

I think stupid s*** like the Eck controversy or Pedey not standing up to Machado would be more negative for a team than 3b defense.

3B defense is probably not the biggest hindrance this team will face. Starting pitching health is probably my biggest concern with overall slumping offense right behind it.

The best IF coach is usually with the MLB team. No reason to put him down in Pawtucket unless he's a complete trainwreck who also can't hit. He's fine as a 3B right now.

Ben's drafts: 2012 - s*** 2013 - s*** 2014 - decent 2015 - s*** aside from Benintendi Combine that with the international free agent nonsense the Sox were involved in, that's the reason the farm hit a bit of a wall. Not everything is DD's fault.

You really don't know what you are talking about. He was injured to start the year and missed 2 months. They pushed him down to Lowell for 3 starts due to injury, not due to him getting lit up.

My preference is to not have to watch a team struggle 3 out of 4 years. Those summers were really rough to get through. I've already had 3 WS titles in my adult life, if they have to go a few more years before I see another, I'll be fine with it. I just don't want to suffer through many more last damn place seasons.

Wrong. She's positive that there is a cliff coming. She's positive that LaRussa was a bad hiring and that he'll be a meddler. Very positive thinking, imo.

Need to dig deeper. If Grady Little pulls Pedro earlier and the Sox win in '03, Nomar is never traded and Todd Walker would have been re-signed. Rentawreck would never have signed in 2005 and Cora wouldn't have had to be brought in to shore up the IF defense.

Why are we focused on the "next GM" when the current one took a back to back last place team and made them a back to back first place team?

Which is why the exercise of parsing out who gets credit for which player is just silly. It's DD's team now, he gets the credit and blame.

He is very quick with offseason moves. In the past, he's always been quick to strike with FA signings and trades. This year, he already re-signed a few MiLB guys and put Brentz on the 40 man roster.
