  1. I think Robby Scott is a good LOOGY and doesn't cost anything.
  2. Sports parents are often s***** to begin with. Parents like to live vicariously through their children. It's dumb. Only 1 out of about 7,000 little leaguers ever play in MLB.
  3. Ok, but his career bullpen numbers are far below average... Bad even.
  4. Betts RF, Benintendi LF, Martinez DH, Bogaerts SS, Pearce 1B, Devers 3B, Swihart C, Holt 2B, Bradley Jr. CF, Johnson LHP
  5. From MLBTR: Also from Fenech’s piece, he reports that a Red Sox executive was recently in attendance to see Francisco Liriano in action, and notes that Liriano could be a fit as a left-hander out of Boston’s bullpen. The Sox are currently going with eight right-handed relievers, with southpaws Bobby Poyner, Robby Scott, and Williams Jerez down at Triple-A, all of whom are far less experienced than a veteran arm like Liriano. While Liriano has struggled overall as a starting pitcher for the Tigers this year, he has dominated left-handed hitters and would fit as a LOOGY in a return to relief work. Liriano's career numbers as a reliever are worse than as a starter. Not sure this is a good fit.
  6. He was optioned to AAA on the 21st. I don't think he can come back until July 31.
  7. Not many good arms to promote from Portland. That roster isn't very good this year. All the good arms are still in Greenville and Salem except for the bullpen arms in Pawtucket.
  8. First a rain out, now this? What happened to your mojo dude?
  9. If they were $1.75, I'd sit there too. They are always the cheapest seats left on Stub Hub.
  10. Don't even start....
  11. Sick? It's no different than a lot of other elective surgeries people have.
  12. 5-5 in their last 10. They are definitely due for a 2nd half swoon. The team that wins the deadline doesn't always reap the rewards.
  13. @PortlandSeaDogs Sea Dogs Roster Moves Trevor Kelley and Matt Kent to @PawSox Kent starts 11 AM game for Pawtucket. ADD: RHP Harrison Cooney from Salem…INF Chad De La Guerra activated from the disabled list. Austin Glorius is still noted as being on Salem's roster, but I'm not sure if that's correct.
  14. My sweeping statement is that TS fights are no longer enjoyable to read. Double thumbs down on this one.
  15. I think it's very normal for people to not enjoy opposing viewpoints. It's just human nature.
  16. I believe vendors are subcontracted out and the Sox only receive a % of the revenue. They don't pay concession salary.
  17. @ClearTheBases Change of plans: Matt Kent (aka @MK51Baseball ) scheduled @PortlandSeaDogs starter in Trenton, now listed as @PawSox starter for this morning's 11 a.m. game against Columbus. Filling in for Beeks. Maybe there will be more roster moves to come?
  18. O's wanted to double dip on concessions.
  19. Umps make call based on the forecast.
  20. No, but I'd buy you a beer if I saw you there.
  21. What year will that be? 2021 after the dreaded jacko cliff?
  22. No, it's not. Not when the Sox rotation is decimated by injury.
  23. They are trained scouts. They may be amateurs, but they are far more knowledgeable than any of us on here.
  24. I'd rather they held onto Beeks, but the injuries to ERod, Pom and Wright really forced their hand into making a move. Maybe DD sold high on another prospect?
