    @alexspeier Swihart ability to block balls in the dirt this week has been drastically better than it was in 2015-16. In '15, Red Sox thought he was reluctant to call pitches that were down because of blocking issues. Not so now.

    Guys similar to Kimbrel's level are available every offseason. Ben never made a move there. Not convinced he'd do one for Sale.

    I'd rather have Sale and Kimbrel. Beni and Devers are both pretty good young stars IMO. The heart of the ballclub hasn't gone past their arb years. A stocked system isn't required.

The Mariners do pay rent, but it’s a fraction of what they’re asking for: $55 million in rent payments over the 25-year lease, vs. the $180 million they’re demanding. Majority owner John Stanton is a billionaire. Glad to not be a Mariner's fan. The public has been trending away from these subsidized stadiums for good reason.

    I'm not sure it can be argued that Ben could put together a competent starting rotation. Ben had the luxury to trade whoever, he just didn't want to. There's no reason to expect him to not hoard prospects. I don't see him trading for Sale or Kimbrel. Without them, they probably don't make the playoffs. Maybe Ben even signs a few more Pablos and Hanleys to join in the decimation of the cap.

    This pen had a great run at the start of the season. If Kelly can get back into gear, running Hembree/Kelly/Barnes/Kimbrel out there turns the game into a 5 inning game.
