  1. Beeks should be in the rotation.
  2. That's every post around here.
  3. SSS alert. His career LF numbers are better than his career RF numbers.
  4. I hope the Yanks continue to play down to their competition.
  5. Huh? JD's numbers are better in LF than RF.
  6. Gimmie a good ole' 4.50 ERA 6 Inning guy any day over a 5 2/3rd's scrub....
  7. There's no harm if you're bringing him in on a minor league deal. Not sure I'd bump anyone off the 40 man for him.
  8. It's not even a quality start!!!!
  9. I only said 4 because slasher used that in his argument: WHAT ELSE CAN YOU EXPECT OUT OF YOUR #4???
  10. Would Machado even be an upgrade in Pawtucket? I don't know if that guy is really worth bringing in.
  11. Also, Dombrowski wasn't replacing Lucchino, Sam Kennedy replaced Lucchino. Dombrowski was taking over a brand new role that didn't exist in the organization.
  12. I think Ben saw the writing on the wall that if he didn't quit, he'd be let go. May as well go out on your own terms. We'll never really know what went on behind closed doors, but I can't blame Ben for bouncing.
  13. When people say "Theo", "Ben" or "Dave" it's really just short hand for all of the front office while that GM was in charge. We'll never know to what extent Theo wanted to "feed the monster" or if it was Larry, or if Ben wanted to sign Panda or if it was ownership, or if Dave is pushing the fire sale of the farm system or if it was directed from above. At the end of the day, those three guys each have good and bad things about them, but Sox fans have been lucky that they've at least been fairly competent.
  14. I think the issue is that people see his potential as a top of the rotation guy rather than just a #4. He's fine as a #4 (if he can stay healthy), but watching him is very frustrating because his ceiling is #2 and it seems like he'll never get there. I don't think there's anything wrong with looking at a talent that is potentially wasted since he can't keep his pitch totals down. I'm sure his bank account would be happier if he was a #2 as well.
  15. Of the Jays top 10 prospects, only 3 were signed under Ben. The top tier of Guerrero, Bichette and Alford were all in the farm before Ben became VP. Time will tell what Ben can go for their system. Right now, it's just a bunch of lottery tickets.
  16. Career games RF - 449 LF - 309 I don't think reads off the bat will be the underlying issue (aside from general mediocre defensive play).
  17. Maybe. The weird part is that Beni's ARM is better than JD's. If Beni's throwing is better, why not put him over in RF? IDK.
  18. But they ended up last place teams. What we thought of them in March is irrelevant.
  19. Because Beni can only play LF. That's how bad Beni is in CF, they'd rather have JD in RF than Beni in CF.
  20. Not sure what total salary has to do with anything? How much dead money was Ben eating at the time? I don't believe much of anything.
  21. Swihart will be given a long enough rope to hang himself on. If they have to get another catcher, I think they do a low key deal for a glove first backup.
  22. 2012: 3rd highest team salary in MLB 2013: 4th highest team salary in MLB 2014: 4th highest team salary in MLB 2015: 3rd highest team salary in MLB Sox weren't really the sisters of the poor when Ben was in charge.
  23. Why would the Reds trade Gennett when they have him for another year under team control? Realmuto isn't a FA until 2021. The Marlins need to keep at least one player around so why not their AS catcher? I don't think either are realistic trade candidates.
