    Really hard to compare vastly different eras though. Jordan is best all time and as much as it pains me to say it, Lebron is probably second.

    Wright's 2016: April - June 24th: 2.01 ERA, 3.33 FIP, 64 GS, 246 BABIP June 24th - September: 5.55 ERA, 4.50 FIP, 45 GS, 328 BABIP He has stretches of being good and stretches of being s*****. Not sure you can expect anything else from him.

    No, other pitchers don't tend to implode the way Steven Wright does. It's just the nature of the knuckleball. Other guys can at least push through with other pitches. If the knuckball is flat, Wright is a low A pitcher.

    Most of us wanted the Sox to sign Hill, but Hill just didn't want to sign here because there was no spot in the rotation for him.

    I'm not sure I'd necessarily expect a guy on a $100M contract to be involved with fentanyl nonsense. I'd go with the guy who has gotten into the most trouble with the law and isn't paid that much: Steven Wright. Maybe Pedroia because he's from NoCal and his family doesn't have a squeaky clean reputation? Maybe Hembree or Swihart? IDK. Honestly, I wouldn't expect anyone on the Sox to be involved with this stuff.

    Hanley just flat out sucked the last 30 days of dressing up for the Sox. 4/25 - 5/24 573 OPS for a guy who is slow and a barely adequate 1b. There are far better options out there. Hell, Adam Lind may be better than Hanley right now and he's sitting down in AAA. Now that is thinking outside the box.

    This happened before his release. The guy was pulled over in April. If the Sox were going to dump him for this, why wait an additional 30 days?

    The problem is that the hand you are referring to has no basis in reality. Over the past few years, Hanley has shown himself to be in steep decline. He's not a guy you can pencil in as a contributor over the long haul.

    I agree that it wasn't a great decision by Cora. I just find it interesting that there is much more hand wringing about Cora than about how poorly Wright pitched. Sometimes, Wright just turns into a pumpkin and I'm not convinced that's a guy I want in my rotation.

    I might check out a minute or two of the home run derby, but more often than not I just don't watch any of the All Star festivities. After the stupid Bud Selig tie game nonsense, I really soured on the whole spectacle.

    If I had 100M, I'm sure I could retire to DR and be pretty happy. Why would he ever come back even if the charges were cleared?

    If Davis didn't have that contract, he'd be at home. We saw the same thing with Hanley. When the cost was truly sunk, they sent Hanley home.

    There is an ignore feature on this site. However, it doesn't work very well for harmony because everyone loves quoting him so much.

    If Hanley continued his horrible May into June, his fWAR would be way worse. His current season total is boosted due to his April. Only two players had a worse May: Lewis Brinson and Chris Davis. You could make a case that both of these guys aren't MLB value right now.

    Also, Casas is starting at 3b today. I bet they'll transition him to 1b this offseason.
