  1. @Ken_Rosenthal Free-agent RHP Nathan Eovaldi in agreement with #RedSox, pending physical, sources tell The Athletic.
  2. You keep saying this like it's a thing. It's not.
  3. Good news is that the Sox won't have to worry about re-signing Price until November 2022.
  4. What Jacko is inferring is that the Sox window won't close for another 10+ years. I agree with him.
  5. No, you're not ridiculous. The idea of trading Mookie is though. I think you could make a case for trading anyone else on the roster, but I don't see how you could replicate Mookie's value in a trade. If you have the best player alive, you keep him.
  6. They won 108 games with 3 catchers on the roster, maybe they can win 120 games with 4 catchers on the roster.
  7. That's not true either. They could have and should have traded Pedroia. I was correct in harping on it even though you think I was just buzzarding because apparently I just can't be right about something if you disagree with it.
  8. Is this turning into a Decepticon forum now?
  9. Please don't compare trading the best player alive to trading an aging 2b.
  10. Put me out of my misery.
  11. I was told this would be a non-silly thread about what we could get back for JBJ, but now we're talking about trading Mookie... This place is too ridiculous for me sometimes.
  12. Problem is that the union delegate from each team is most likely making about $5M and is looking out for himself rather than the lower earners.
  13. It might not be true for you, but it's true for a lot of other posters. I'll update my TS cheat sheet to note your thoughts on this matter.
  14. If you can hit for power in AA, you can hit for power at other levels. If Dalbec was in San Diego's farm, he'd be competing for a starting job for Opening Day.
  15. I trust that if Dombrowski is in the position he'll be able to fill the needs of the big club either through FA, trades or promotion. He's done really well so far.
  16. That's not true from a lot of people's perspectives. It's more often than not used as a complaint.
  17. He's going to do what he always does, keep the minor leaguers that he thinks will have a nice fit in BOS and trade the others.
  18. Nothing is ever good enough for some people.
  19. If they keep Helton around for one more year (it looks like they are going to do that at this point) you should have another easy go in 2019.
  20. D'oh... Fire DUMBrowski!
  21. My point is that he has properly used the cupboard. The point of having a MLB team is to win championships. You don't fly banners for having the #1 farm system. You fly banners if you can properly use that farm system to fill MLB positions (Devers, Xander, Betts, JBJ, et al) and trade areas of need (Sale, Kimbrel, Eovaldi).
  22. He hasn't really had enough time to be in AAA by now since he was held back in 2017 due to an injury. To end your second full season in AA isn't a big slight against a player.
  23. Sometimes you make your money back, sometimes you don't. That's why trades like the Pomeranz deal can't be trashed too much. Just remember that they cleared out the farm to get Chris freakin Sale and one of the top 3 closers over the past few years. THEY ALSO WON 108 GAMES AND A WORLD SERIES.
  24. USC has sucked donkeydick this year and they need to fire Helton in the offseason. The line play for USC has been really bad and the team doesn't stretch the field or run the ball the way they should against inferior talent. USC announced on its Twitter account that offensive coordinator Tee Martin, defensive line coach Kenechi Udeze and defensive backs coach Ronnie Bradford are no longer on the coaching staff, joining offensive line coach Neil Callaway, who was let go after eight games this season. It was not a fun year to be a Trojans fan. It should be fun to watch Daniels and St Brown play pitch and catch for the next few years. Not sure a backfield of Carr and Malepeai gets it done though.
  25. People will have to learn how to spell Esteban Quiroz. Editor's note: Pedroia will be playing 150 games this year.
