  1. I think Cora made the right call.
  2. He IS already dominating at that level tho? And he's only appeared in 2 games so far.
  3. Velazquez can't go more than 2-3 innings. He's not a viable starting candidate unless you are piggybacking him with Beeks or Johnson.
  4. Perhaps some of us were right all along. To me, I didn't care about lineups or any of that crap. We can even see now that the Sox can't run the bases, so it can't all be attributed to Farrell. However, the glaring issue last year was how Farrell handled the Pedroia (it's them not me) and the Price (Eck) issues. It just seemed like he wasn't a leader and wasn't able to handle things in house. To me, that's the most important job of a manager.
  5. The problem is that a lot of dumpster dives want MLB contracts or at least be on the roster by May. We couldn't have brought in guys like Lynn, Hellickson, etc as we wouldn't have been able to fit them on the roster early in the season.
  6. Pom is throwing in AAA. If the Sox announced that he's rejoining the rotation after the AS Break, I wouldn't be shocked.
  7. When you have a rotation filled with injury prone guys (ERod, Wright, Price, Porcello) you must expect injuries to pop up an inopportune moments. I'm surprised that Price hasn't had a return of his 2017 issues.
  8. The only good thing about Shields is that he'll eat a lot of innings. Hard to throw Velazquez out there every 5th day if he can only go 2 - 3 innings, which is only compounded by the fact that he pitches back to back with ERod who simply can't get through the 6th inning. Maybe they should be looking for a guy to throw in the pen that can go 2-3 innings at a time to help the overall burden? IDK.
  9. I like Buttrey. He's finally learned to limit his BB's. He has the tools to be an effective late inning guy, but has always control issues.
  10. Travis has a good hit tool but no power. Tough to be a major leaguer who is built for 1b/lf but can’t put one out.
  11. That’s ALL STAR Mitch Moreland to you...
  12. Ball was barrelled and over his head. Beni doesn’t make that play.
  13. Beni isn’t much better. Ahem.
  14. Yup. Just put the dopes on ignore when you can't deal with them anymore.
  15. It's a real tough call.
  16. If you can't be excited about a guy playing well on your team, you're probably a s***** fan. There's nothing wrong with calling out someone who is underperforming though.
  17. This year: #1 OPS #5 ERA Last year: #22 OPS #4 ERA If you could pick one reason for the big change from last year, what would it be?
  18. Oh don't worry. When JBJ is playing well, we all hear about it...
  19. It's actually 292 at Fenway (296 against the Sox) 788 OPS, 149 PA
