    Lowe is too expensive for the Breslow's model, not for JH. Bregman is a goner. I'm not planning on a trade of an OFer, because I've thought they'd do the simple move every year and they seem to ignore it time and time again. I think they add one SP, but it's lower leverage than we are hoping for.

    Like I said previously, no complaints about the offseason moves. In season moves leave something to be desired TBF.

    They played .560 ball the rest of the way. All they did was just not swoon like they had in previous years. They didn't go on an amazing run or anything. (It helped that their pitchers led MLB in ERA in August, which had nothing to do with the guys they picked up).

    So overpay for average players to fill out the bottom of the lineup where the Sox still have holes? I don't see what the big deal is. They overpaid for a starter that has an extensive history of not staying healthy and he probably won't be helping them in the playoffs anyway.

    Significant changes to umpiring may need to be approved by the union, so it's not entirely unrelated. I'm not sure Manfred could force it or even wants to. I think they are happy with the AAA challenge system as they use MiLB as a testing ground for their nonsense. Full robo isn't a reasonable expectation anytime soon. The NFL lockout is related because you said nobody would care if MLB umps went on strike.

    It was certainly a mediocre team. It was a boring team. We weren't forced to watch the 2020 Red Sox for full seasons in '22-24. The teams were still competitive near each deadline. You can't say that for a true last place team.

    If all the MLB umps disappear and a replaced willy nilly, there will be problems that you don't forsee just because you have a bone to pick about the k zone that is shown on your tv.

    It wasn't realistic. Sox went back and forth with the Twins, even offering Tolle plus a bunch of other guys right up to the end, but the Twins kept saying it wasn't enough. Twins were just stringing them along. Brezzz was just wasting his time with that one.
