  1. We'd also never hear the end of how Bloom is a disaster who is probably just some robot or puppet and could never lace up a pair of cleats. Also, I heard that Bloom doesn't even know that Baltimore isn't the capital of Maryland! What a dum dum.
  2. Not worthy of a sig bet IMO.
  3. I thought it was the "homie juice" that someone was trying to sell us at the TA.
  4. Plus, in season trades usually bring diminishing returns. I'm not sure who Elkton was refering to as saying "hold onto Betts to increase his trade value" but I don't think it was people who are posting right now.
  5. Bro, do you even watch the Wire? Crab cakes? Do you even Natty Boh?!?
  6. Have you seen this year's rotation?
  7. I too believe in the boogeyman.
  8. @ChrisCotillo Kevin Pillar deal could become official today. Going through physical now. Can we even trust the medical staff to do this?!??!?!?
  9. No, he wants to keep his radio job by getting listeners to hear what nonsense is coming next.
  10. The problem with that thought process is "what about 2021, 2022?"
  11. Compete, but not get under the lux tax, which was the only consideration.
  12. Well, if you only consider the 2020 MLB roster you may think that.
  13. Sure. We just don't know the reasons so we can't debate them. All we have is salary and on field performance. I don't believe that Bloom would make a move that didn't have some logistical reason behind it. DD was much more of the "I want my player and I want it now" kinda guy. Bloom seems more patient and hopefully has a better plan.
  14. I talked myself liking that deal as I thought it was an inevitability. The Dodgers deal makes much more sense to me. You automatically reset the lux tax, you have a replacement for Betts in RF and add 2 players that can fill positions of need in MiLB pipeline. Having Price's dead money isn't great. Having Myers too would be even worse.
  15. Fauria is also know for saying absolutely dumb s*** too.
  16. I agree. I don't think they need or should trade JBJ. The only way I'd trade JBJ is if he got extremely hot and someone wanted to give up some great prospects for him. I just don't believe that trade market is there. It's better for the Sox to just hold onto him, expect at .750 OPS and try to retain him for cheaper money going forward.
  17. They have needs almost everywhere.
  18. I don't entirely believe that was the actual deal presented. Also, that trade doesn't bring them under the lux tax, correct? The Sox' main objective was to get under the lux tax, no matter what Henry said otherwise. Any trade that would prevent them from doing so wasn't going to happen. I think the Sox used the Padres as a spark to force momentum on a trade with LA. I think Bloom all along knew he wanted Price and Betts to go to LA.
  19. There's a risk to everything. We now know that we could have signed Pillar, Hamilton and more for less than the cost of JBJ. It's funny though. Questioning that move at the time was the right thing. Now it's "don't use Pillar's actual market value" which is just a bad faith argument. It was a legit question then that wasn't just some TalkSox creation.
  20. Also, we don't need harmony parody posts. His actual posts are ridiculous enough.
  21. I think he was more annoyed by it because he thought of BDC as the domain of a few former TalkSox posters and just didn't want to give anyone a chance. It just took a while for you guys to be properly assimilated.
  22. It went back to well before then. He'd take long breaks from this place. I think he hated the 2012 TalkSox roster much more than he hated 2016.
  23. And the Sox definitely don't. Yuck
  24. Should they have? Couldn't they have non tendered him and signed him for 2/12? Wouldn't that have saved them money. I'm sure if they did that there'd be a lot of people high fiving on here.
