  1. We're going to see Dalbec, Chatham and Houck this year. They are all top 10 prospects.
  2. Myers is RHB. Mitch is LHB.
  3. We already do...
  4. He'd platoon with Mitch, but I wonder if using Dalbec/Chavis would be better unless they are going to move them as well.
  5. Happy to have him here, glad to see him leave. His regular season numbers from 2019 were worse than his 2018 numbers which most of us weren't happy with.
  6. Bauer is the only good option there. Stroman is fine. The others have various issues (durability, performance, etc.).
  7. Can't forget Pomeranz! Was he even on the postseason roster? Kelly's production can be replicated by any AAAA reliever.
  8. Please don't call JBJ a garbage player.
  9. Can't see the Yanks doing that with Rivera.
  10. Anyway, when you’ve caused Nick Markakis to suggest that perhaps violence is the best course of action, you sort of have a problem on your hands. Here are Crazy Nick’s comments today about the Houston Astros: “I feel like every single guy over there needs a beating. It’s wrong. They’re messing with people’s careers . . . There’s right ways to do it and wrong ways to do it. I 100% disagree with way they did it. There’s a lot of people that were hurt by it, and it was wrong.” As has become custom in these daily ranting, Markakis made sure he gave a shoutout to MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, who he criticized for letting the Astros off “scot free”: “The way he handled the situation, he should be embarrassed of himself.”
  11. Did he close out the series or did someone else? I don't remember them pulling Betts off the field in the 9th inning for a defensive replacement.
  12. You've seen the posts people write on here, right?
  13. They didn't bench him. I'd bet that Mookie would be more likely to do well during the 2020 postseason than Kimbrel.
  14. That devastating loss of Nunez, Holt and Kimbrel (who they didn't even trust to close out games in the WS).
  15. One step forward, two steps back.
  16. Didn't Sosa and McGwire save baseball?
  17. I think the floor for the 2020 team would have been last year's 84 wins, but the ceiling is competing with the Yanks/Rays for the division. It was risky for sure.
  18. It's also the same basic team from 2018 that lapped the field.
  19. I'd say make it more HR happy.
  20. Unproven? Bloom had a pretty good track record in TB. I think they are punting this season and trying to build something long term. I agree with others that they could be big sellers at the deadline even if they are above .500. There's no pressure on this season. Nobody is going to be watching. They waved the white flag when they moved Betts.
  21. The best chance for him to come back is for ticket sales and ratings to absolutely suck balls this year. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
  22. I'm not arguing that it didn't have to be done. I'm just saying that this is a situation that I haven't had to go through as a fan of the Red Sox. I wasn't shitposting in the sandbox in PreK when Fisk and Lynn left.
  23. Maybe he likes his current options better? If you guys have faith that Bloom knows what he's doing, you'll have to just agree that he's doing the right thing now.
  24. It hasn't been reported what he is signing for.
