    I like Dalbec, but I'm not sold on him being anything other than Kevin Maas. His high k rate isn't sustainable right now. And it's not like JD was raking last year. There's a solid chance JD never returns to form. With a 26th roster spot, you can stash a guy for the whole season (see Arauz).

    If the Sox were able to take a flier on Sanchez at what he made in 2020, I think they should do it. He still has high upside. If they moved him off C, maybe his bat comes back?

    FL drivers are horrible, but I still contend that RI drivers are the worst of anywhere I've lived. Have never been to LA the state though, just LA the city.

    At the very least, they need a 4th OFer that can play CF. I think they sign a starting OFer on a 1 or 2 year deal. There's no reason to rush Duran. Make him force the issue the way Beni and Devers did.

    The BoSox were on pace for one of the worst starter ERAs in baseball history at one point last season. Simply put, they need starters -- particularly ones that won't break the bank account. In any other year, Taijuan Walker could demand a longer deal, but in this uncertain landscape, he may have to settle for a more modest one. Basically, they need a starter and Walker is a starter. He's just taking each team and picking one FA to sign. Despite the circumstances, we took a stab at matching one free agent with each of the 30 MLB clubs.

    I can't see Sanchez getting non-tendered. It could happen, but I doubt it. The BABIP gods killed Pham this year. I'd grab him in a second.

    Look, he's a young man who has made a mistake. I think this will help him grow as an individual. Let's just move on and worry about the real menaces to baseball: betting on baseball 35 years ago and sign stealing! Things like DUI's and spousal abuse (HOFer Bobby Cox) are just boys will be boys stuff.

    If this was a Rays board, it'd be a conversation we'd be having decades later (ala Grady Little). Also, we're in the portion of the offseason where there isn't a whole hell of a lot to talk about.

    I agree. Cora stated that the Sox would spend money, but not go after the larger contracts. I think they'll bring in a lot of the smaller contracts and revamp the roster that way. Rather than AAAA fodder, they can fill up the 25 man rotation on undermarket deals.
