Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic reports that MLB and the MLBPA reached agreement late Monday night on a plan regarding the 2020 postseason. An official announcement is expected on Tuesday. The Wild Card rounds of the playoffs are expected to take place at home ballparks, but there will be a bubble structure for the Division Series, League Championship Series and World Series. Per multiple previous reports, the ALDS will reportedly take place at Dodger Stadium (Los Angeles) and PETCO Park (San Diego) with the ALCS also taking place at PETCO. The NLDS will reportedly be played at Minute Maid Park (Houston) and Globe Life Field (Arlington) with the NLCS also taking place at Globe Life. The entire World Series is slated to occur at Globe Life Field, as well. Details were still being worked out as of a few days ago, but the goal of a bubble structure is to utilize stringent safety protocols to prevent a COVID-19 outbreak and ensure the completion of the 2020 season. Stay tuned.

If he has Spring Training in 2022, he'll be in BOS by the end of the year IMO.

Marcus Wilson is an up and down guy at best. If they need a short term filler in CF, they'll just grab a glove first guy in FA. LFers are also pretty easy to come by in FA.

I don't believe the farm system is as bare as some people make it out to be. However, the majority of the talent will definitely not be ready for 2021. Groome, Ward, Mata and Seabold could all show something next year and maybe impact BOS in 21 or 22 at some point. Song should contribute when he comes back as well. Those 5 guys are a better group of starting prospects than they've had in a long time. (This of course doesn't mean they are all top of the rotation guys.)

I'd say one established guy and maybe a few more fliers on guys who could open or be the bulk innings guy. There's a lot of work to do with the pitching staff, but I'm not sure it's fixed just through FA's.

@redsoxstats JBJ is hitting .304/.396/.565 in September. When looking at what he was doing I found this ridiculous split from this season: 27-63 (.429) 4 HR, 8 K, 10 BB vs. 4-seam fastballs 10-85 (.141) 1 HR, 30 K, 4 BB vs. all other pitch types

A small sample which included an abnormally long stretch of bad baseball from Devers who has bounced back considerably. My guess is that if the season went a full 162, Devers would lap Seager's fWAR.

And Devers' development path is why many think he has a much higher ceiling than Seager and that the comp may not be all that great.

Devers had 7.9 career fWAR prior to turning 23. Seager was still in A ball at 23.

For now, Devers is definitely second tier for those mega contracts.
