  1. I don't have access to the BDC archives.
  2. Binge that one week, back to baseball the next.
  3. Maybe them messing around in ST will make them realize they need a CF and they just get JBJ for like 1/8?
  4. After 9/2011 - 9/2012, how many people thought the 2012-13 offseason mattered? I don't think too many people predicted rings that year (especially at the beginning of April when Papi was out with injury).
  5. It may be more important in pandemic seasons as the only $$$ will be from tv viewers. If the team stinks in August, people will stop watching. If the same happens in a normal season, the tickets are already sold.
  6. They just don't want to go over the cap or be stuck with a pitcher they don't want next season. Maybe they can get some one year deals done? IDK. Maybe they truly believe guys like Seabold and Houck could be successful in this rotation in the 2nd half?
  7. I mean, Odorizzi could be legitimately signed on a below market deal now? Porcello could be cheap and is good insurance against the health risks we currently have.
  8. Especially for teams that could jump to the highest payroll in the league without flinching.
  9. @TBTimes_Rays Teams are required to play 9 innings for national TV games. #Rays Cash said he texted with #RedSox's Cora, and they may have to roll some innings (cut them short), which is allowed if a pitcher throws more than 20, rather than bring in a reliever. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=to_xM_HxRJo
  10. 4 years from now, Sale will still be under contract. All the other guys could be extended prior to then. Xander should just be a guy that is here for the rest of his career.
  11. If they just signed one extra starting pitcher, things would look much better.
  12. Brian Johnson was solid, but didn't have the upside of any of the pitchers I mentioned. Moncada, Margot and Kopech seem to be legit MLBers. Swihart is a journeyman who was yanked off of C too early. Espinoza got injured. The only guy legitimately overhyped in that squad was Owens. Owens had a monster curve ball, but never figured out how to control it.
  13. Owners hired Bloom to keep payroll low and the team competitive until they can make their next run. I think they are more patient than anyone on here.
  14. @PeteAbe #RedSox pitching plans today are Martin Perez for two innings followed by RHP Garrett Whitlock, RHP Joel Payamps, RHP Ryan Weber, RHP Josh Winckowski, and RHP Andrew Politi Whitlock is the Rule V guy. See Payamps before he's DFA'd again! Winckowski will be the first asset to watch from the Beni deal. Politi has been a guy many people online are pushing this offseason.
  15. 85 wins is much better than the dreck we watched last year. 85 wins plus seeing the future in some young guys leaves me hopeful.
  16. We saw him year in and year out. The offensive upside was immense, but he always seemed to find himself at the bottom of the order due to frigid cold streaks. Defensively, he was really good, but metrics say guys like Kiermaier were better. With JBJ, it seemed to be more hype than results.
  17. Currently on the roster: Devers Verdugo Xander if he doesn't opt out Sale DHern Houck MiLB in order: Downs Casas Duran Mata Ward The next group of Gilberto Jimenez, Noah Song, Aldo Ramirez, Yorke and Bonaci could be pretty damn good too. I'm sure a few of the guys will flame out, but this group is stronger than what we've seen in a while.
  18. Maybe there are newer philosophies? Maybe the newer philosophies don't work for every lineup? IDK. One weird decision wouldn't make me question the manager.
  19. They chose... poorly. https://twitter.com/craigcalcaterra/status/1366742053489672192
  20. Once a pitcher throws 20 pitches, they can end the inning. It's fine since this is really just practice. These games are meaningless.
  21. I have to trust that Cora has access to data that we don't have. If he's putting Kiké at the top of the order, there must be a good reason.
  22. I don't have the patience to either read the comments or read CHB.
  23. Hard to get worked up over these performances either way. If he looks like this at the end of March, maybe there'll be a problem.
  24. Everyone is getting a shot at SS @SoxProspects Today's lineup vs. TB (9 inn.): K. Hernández SS Duran (#SP60 no. 4) CF Martinez DH Devers 3B Renfroe RF Chavis 1B Muñoz LF Wong (#SP60 no. 22) C Araúz (#SP60 no. 26) 2B Pérez P
  25. Yes. It wasn't originally listed as being on MLB.TV, but was put on the schedule prior to the game yesterday. Locally, I believe it was on NESN.
