  1. Living the high life with that 34 WRC+. The sample sizes ruin any argument you have.
  2. I would say that it's usually more like trading 4 Canadian quarters for a US dollar. Depending on how the exchange rate fluctuates, you may come out ahead.
  3. Bill James hates CERA. Baseball Prospectus hates CERA. It's a deeply flawed stat, maybe even worse than pitcher wins.
  4. @SmittyOnMLB Boston Red Sox front office has been ‘relentless’ exploring starting pitching market; ‘Conversations are going on and on,’ Alex Cora says
  5. If that were the case, Brady would be using a glove in warm weather. Most QB's don't use them in warm weather.
  6. Or not.
  7. We'll have to see. Dalbec's OPS was a little bit better than that last year.
  8. CERA isn't real.
  9. If Devers falters at 3b, I'd actually move Dalbec to 3b and Devers to LF. Does that make Devers Russ Branyan?
  10. I don't believe so. You'd most likely need to trade Chavis and an arm with upside like Bello.
  11. Vaz is the only decent fielding Catcher the Sox have. Grullon, Plawecki and Wong are all a little too lackluster behind the dish. Maybe it's not a big deal when robot umps come, but I think Vaz has decent value to the Sox in the meantime.
  12. A glove would probably take away from a pitcher's feel. I think just allowing pinetar or bullfrong would do the trick.
  13. I'd move Chavis for any of those guys.
  14. 3 team trades don't happen all that often. I think Vaz is on this roster until his contract ends, if not longer.
  15. Maybe that's why you bring in a more versatile guy like Miller? I still would like Moreland on the bench as a backup LHB and mentor to Dalbec.
  16. I think you try to see if he can be a fulltime guy this year. I'd give him a long leash. I know Casas is waiting in the wings, but a productive Dalbec can probably be moved over to 3b or even to a corner OF spot.
  17. I'm not sold on Marisnik, but I like Miller.
  18. I would not be surprised to see Taylor in WOO at the start of the season. His stuff was greatly diminished last season (likely due to COVID) so he really needs to earn his spot. It's not like his repertoire is amazing, just a run of the mill below average FB/above average Slider. He's basically a left handed Walden.
  19. So that's where Joey Votto 2.0 showed up...
  20. Well, I should hope that a guy who goes 3 innings can also pitch a partial inning. Is the 3 batter rule still in effect?
  21. If they get a glove first CFer, it may make sense to get a bigger bat at 2b than Arroyo. I'm not sure you really want to have 2 black holes in the lineup.
  22. Keep Dalbec, sign a FA.
  23. BOH: @redsoxstats “The door is definitely not closed on adding to the outfield mix and that could certainly be a traditional CF that has experience, like a guy like Jackie Bradley. We’ve said Jackie remains on our radar and definitely nothing is foreclosed there.”
  24. @alexspeier Cora says that health issues do Josh Taylor and Darwinzon Hernandez left ‘a big gap’ in the Red Sox bullpen last year. If both are back to health, he feels good about the shape of the bullpen, even as Team continues to explore upgrades. ‘There’s versatility in our bullpen.’ I think "versatility" is code for "we have zero idea where to slot each guy."
