  1. The Lee part of the equation is why I'm interested in the Mets PTBNL.
  2. Maybe, but there hasn't been a strong correlation with former MLB players pumping out future all stars.
  3. As someone who celebrates "here comes the pizza" annually, this hurts...
  4. So you aren't the biggest Red Sox fan then?
  5. Franchy being put on the IL already?
  6. Most of us are anyway.
  7. Still mad about the Slocumb deal.
  8. You care if you are a luxury tax deadender.
  9. Yes, he has a much better track record than Munoz. Could Munoz leap him this year?
  10. If they are close to contention, why would they be sellers unless the return was really good? I don't think a trade of Barnes moves the meter either way. If they are good, holding onto ERod for the rest of the season doesn't ruin your outlook. I wouldn't start dumping a bunch of prospects to get a reliever. I don't think they'd do that anyway.
  11. Look, all I'm saying is that things could really go well for him or things could go poorly for him. Maybe even a little of both. Tough to say.
  12. @PeteAbe #RedSox have Verdugo and Duran in CF in the outfield drills going on now.
  13. I'm just waiting for the 4th generation of Boones to show up.
  14. Yeah, I started reading Dune again.
  15. Good one, dad.
  16. It lists the draft as "offline" is that correct? It's Yahoo, right?
  17. I don't think I ever saw the email, but I was able to log into the app and see the league.
  18. Don't go to EEI expecting smart debate.
  19. I think the background helps, but you always go with the guy who is more talented. At some point, professional coaching is more important than the conversations you had as a child at the dinner table.
  20. I think all of his sons are positional players.
  21. Maybe they did the calculus and thought it was easier to let the story fade into the background and have Mickey walk out the back door rather than pull the bandaid off and bring it front and center to the media?
  22. With how casual he was about everything, I doubt it was just him having a bad day. Even if you take the interpreter comments out of it, having a guy at the top of the organization kinda rip into some of the players is just not a good look. It's why guys like Bloom deflect and don't speak directly to certain issues. There is no benefit to be gained by saying a guy is overpaid or underhandedly question a guy's personality.
  23. No, I've said that before. I think he can be a pretty good player, but his extensive injury history leads me to wonder if be closer to his floor than ceiling. He's just not the type of player you sign for 5 years. I want him to succeed and then the Sox turn him into a few good prospects. If he stays healthy, he could be a 30/30 guy. He just doesn't have that track record though. Does that lead me to make a Wily Mo Pena comparison? Nope.
  24. The real question is why Mickey Callaway hasn't been fired. https://www.mlb.com/angels/news/matt-wise-angels-interim-pitching-coach His alleged conduct is much worse than complaining about paying for an interpreter.
  25. Harmony, a Mariners fan, posted about it and even put it in the right forum. I don't see the problem.
