  1. Boo!!! Gotcha again. I'm the proto-ghost. The creme de la creme. The pinnacle. The apex. The zenith. The alpha. The omega.
  2. And if you're having a bad day, taking 20 swings in the garage will make you feel better.
  3. As one of the few Mazza backers, I gave Bloom credit where it was due.
  4. But less exciting unless he can recreate his 2019 aberration.
  5. I'm not going to revisit last year's entire squad, but there are quite a few arms aside from Brice who have flopped. I'm also not sure he can take all the credit for Whitlock since scouts didn't know at rule 5 draft time about his increased velo or the new change that he developed in ST thanks to Andriese.
  6. Half chuckle. I still don't understand why they didn't have him play LF at all in ST. Just crazy to me.
  7. @SoxProspects Its a historic day in Worcester as Polar Park opens its doors at long last. Complete affiliate schedule below. AAA - Worcester (Raynel Espinal) 3:05 pm (on @NESN ) AA - Portland (Frank German) 7:05 pm A+ - Greenville (Jay Groome) 7:05 pm A - Salem (Jermey Wu-Yellend) 7:05 pm
  8. Fun fact, the rest of his pitches are the same picture.
  9. His knuckler would definitely have a high spin rate.
  10. It's funny that our biggest needs 1B/2B/LF all happen to be our best offensive prospects. The pen may be a "mess" but it's still top 10 in baseball. Getting rid of the bottom 2 guys and replacing them with productive young arms will help.
  11. Imagine how horrible Brice would be if he didn't have his off the charts spin rate.
  12. @SoxProspects Some Tuesday transactions from Worcester: IF Chad De La Guerra to IL (hamstring strain) RHRPs Brandon Brennan and Brandon Workman activated UT Jack Lopez added from Portland It says UT Danny Santana rehab assignment transferred, but that should be activated from IL, we think. Santana is getting closer.
  13. They're pretty good actually. This season has been downright enjoyable. So far, they haven't been the .500 team that some of the naysayers were projecting.
  14. They liked Springs last year and even had him close out some games. I didn't understand why they DFA'd Springs but kept Brice.
  15. I wonder if he's a victim of the newer balls.
  16. While Jeff Francoeur did play for 8 different teams, none of them were the Sox.
  17. I tend to think that all these other teams should be worried about our offense coming to light up their pitching. Cora will also have had time to fix his bullpen issues.
  18. He's been a joke from day one.
  19. They have room on the roster due to roster expansion, but a glut of mediocre OFers. Mieses will probably put up big numbers in AA like Barfield did a few years ago and then go play elsewhere next year.
  20. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/rafael-devers-still-has-another-gear/ Devers is running an elite line, certainly, but he also has the fourth-best expected wOBA in baseball, behind only Harper, Soto, and Ronald Acuña Jr. We have known for a few years now that Devers is a really good player — his 133 wRC+, 5.9 WAR 2019 campaign was the 13th-most valuable season in baseball that year — but to see him in a class with Harper, Soto, and Acuña gives me a whole different perception of his offensive prowess. By most of the rate stats, Devers is on pace for a career year, but by the end of 2021, there’s a pretty good chance his slash line will be even better than it is now. And that’s really exciting if you’re a Red Sox fan. Interesting article on how Devers is actually outperforming his stats.
  21. Mieses should be in AAA. He came over from STL before 2020. He's played well in AAA before so pushing him down to AA may just be a numbers game thing? IDK.
