  1. So we anticipate Means having better stats because he doesn't have to face the 1st place O's?
  2. It's called the Gedman. Only the Bill James Handbook counts that stat.
  3. That's the wrong jersey. For the marathon tie in, it's the wrong color blue.
  4. The magic number is fuzzy math then. I don't believe in that witchcraft.
  5. And he spent all offseason stating how good the Rays will be???
  6. Unsustainable low BABIP of .077! In two starts last year against the lowly 2020 Sox, he gave up 9 runs.
  7. When Andriese came in, it was 5 - 0 and he needed to get 12 outs. Sounds like he'd be deserving of a save in that case. Now, Ottavino came in with the score 7 - 2 with the bases loaded and 2 outs. He k's the batter and gets a hold. Seems reasonable enough to me! Valdez gets 3 outs in a 11 - 2 game and doesn't get a save. Seems fine?
  8. If the Yankees play 162 games, 19 against the Sox and 143 against everyone else: They could possibly go 143 - 0 against every other team and it not affect the Sox. The Sox could go 143 - 0 against every other team and it not affect the Yankees. There are 19 games against each other. If both teams went 143 - 0 otherwise, they would win the division by going 153 - 9. Now, we are 4 games into the season. The O's have the best record at 3 - 1. The Sox are at 1 - 3. If the Sox and O's win every game against other opponents going forward, the O's will be 145 - 1 and the Sox will be 143 - 3 (16 games left to play against each other). Sox need to win 10 games from the O's, so they would have to get to 153 - 9 to win the division. So the magic number is 152?
  9. Right now, he's a long reliever (very valuable IMO). Not sure he can go 5 innings right now, so they'll have to stretch him out this year. Maybe it's best post TJS to let him sit in the pen this year and start next?
  10. Also, I'm going to jump anyway. https://twitter.com/ChrisCotillo/status/1379434727938027525
  11. DHern's problem is control, not command.
  12. No. Just do whatever feels good to you.
  13. Devers' career OPS of .715 in April. Woof. He'll definitely get going though. I feel like his defense also starts off on the wrong foot as well. Need to change up his offseason habits?
  14. Considering that we have to play each AL East team 19 times, should the magic number be 147?
  15. Would have been perfect if second base didn’t ruin that double play ball.
  16. Also, the ump f***ing sucked!
  17. These dumb bastards did it!
  18. Traded for them.
  19. Mazza and Springs appearances are just a treat now.
  20. Jeffrey Spring is warming up!
  21. JD seems to be back
