  1. Pedro/Tek pushing Pedroia in the laundry cart is my everything.
  2. I feel personally attacked for not being able to see the pregame ceremony.
  3. @alexspeier Cora on Pedroia: ‘He’s in my Hall of Fame, not only as a player but as a person.’
  4. @ChrisCotillo Red Sox injury updates: * Sale on track for 20-pitch live BP tomorrow... will be another live BP next week. * Brasier in town for a checkup.
  5. I read that he also punched the umpire that game. On June 23, 1917, Babe Ruth was on the mound for the Boston Red Sox against the Washington Senators and it didn’t take much to set off the Babe that particular day. In fact, it took just four pitches. After walking leadoff hitter Ray Morgan, Ruth confronted umpire Brick Owens and the scene quickly turned ugly. According to the Boston Globe, Ruth was upset over a couple of close pitches and after being warned and then ejected by Owens, Ruth slugged the umpire. “Then in rushed Ruth. Chester Thomas tried to prevent him from reaching Owens, who had not removed his mask, but Babe started swinging both hands. The left missed the arbiter, but the right struck him behind the left ear. Manager Barry and several policemen had to drag Ruth off the field. All season Babe has been fussing a lot. Nothing has seemed to satisfy him.”
  6. They are the East Coast Oakland A's.
  7. @ChrisCotillo Ryan Brasier is back in Boston with the Red Sox.
  8. Verdugo is a mild disappointment this year. I was hoping for him to take a step forward, but that hasn't happened. 845 OPS vs 796 OPS isn't the end of the world, but I was hoping for him to improve.
  9. I can't get pumped up for combined no hitters. The Astros have two of these. They all pale in comparison to this one: Red Sox 4, Senators 0 -- June 23, 1917 Babe Ruth (0 IP), Ernie Shore (9 IP) It’s probably the most famous opening to any no-hitter. Ruth, in his fourth season as an ace pitcher for Boston, got himself ejected for arguing balls and strikes after walking leadoff man Ray Morgan. Morgan was caught stealing after Shore’s very first pitch, and the righty retired the next 26 batters he faced for a most improbable no-hitter.
  10. @steve_hewitt For those going to tonight’s Red Sox-Yankees game at Fenway, the pregame ceremony honoring Dustin Pedroia is planned to start at 6:30. I'm guessing all of us MLB.tv friends will need to find another way to watch this.
  11. @SoxProspects Second baseman Grant Williams had another good day at the plate for Portland. He went 2-for-4 with his sixth double of the season, raising hit batting average to .308. In 131 plate appearances this season, Williams has struck out only seven times. Is that even allowed?
  12. Maybe the pitcher is letting their guard down after such an easy out instead? 6D Chess by Cora.
  13. And for 24, you have Manny AND Dewey.
  14. The 1st batter of the game has an OPS+ of 45........................... OPS+ for leadoff is 67. I think they have a high OPS in the first inning because of who hits 2-4.
  15. And not only is Mieses starting to tear it up in AAA. He's now hitting bombs in the Olympic Qualifiers. https://twitter.com/SPChrisHatfield/status/1408442371390545926
  16. Why did the Royals overpay for Beni?
  17. Could DD have made the trade with just 3 players instead of 4? Probably. Did it come back and bite us? Nope. So as I said before, maybe a mild overpay but it all worked itself out.
  18. Guerra and Asuaje are nobodies. Allen could contribute, but it looks more and more unlikely by the day.
  19. Perez vs German It's only fitting that Pedroia's #1 fan gets to make today's game thread.
  20. It's not? Maybe you had a server error?
  21. Devlin Granberg is having a nice season for a guy outside the top 60 on SoxProspects (for now). He has an overall 1.024 OPS between Greenville and Portland. OPS after being promoted is currently at 864 (higher than Tristan Casas). Not a lot of upside for Devlin, but could be a 4th OFer or bench bat if everything breaks right for him.
  22. No. It's a Friday. Why are you doing this to us?
