  1. I disagree. Dalbec has been given much more leeway than Cordero. I think that's a function of his age and that Sox fans believe he can get better. They looked at Codero and thought he'll always stink.
  2. Yahoo is driving me crazy. Jansen got a save last night, but Yahoo is counting it as -1 for some reason which went from making the matchup a tie to a loss. WTH?
  3. Surprised to see that Mieses' OPS at AAA is now at 960. I was expecting his OBP to drop after the promotion, but that hasn't been the case. I don't think he's got a high upside, but maybe he does have a chance to contribute as a bench bat.
  4. Yup, he was up too long. Honestly, I think a guy like Kaleb Ort is more of a post-prospect than Whitlock. That's just semantics though.
  5. True classic country folks. Though I prefer when the singer does a Boy Named Sue.
  6. Can't believe they stole that line from a Mel Gibson movie.
  7. Now, if a .700 hitter was 100% better than he currently is, he'd still have a -tsPAR. (TalkSoxPosterAboveReplacement)
  8. I think it depends on what the definition of better means. I do agree that .280 isn't 6% more than .220 though. If a .220 hitter was 100% better than s/he currently was, they'd hit .440 and not 1.220.
  9. Maybe. "Two men enter, one man leaves" is from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. It's spoken by national treasure Tina Turner.
  10. That list looks like it has dust on it when it puts Whitlock at 24.
  11. The year hops was introduced to Europe.
  12. Don't leave Greg Bird out of the equation...
  13. Also, since Gonsalves has gone with an opener, he's thrown 10 Innings with 0 ER. That doesn't scream out as "been shelled, recently." Gossett was lit up last time out and has not followed an opener yet.
  14. Ok, do you think they are going to trade someone? They've already been using guys like Gonsalves with an opener to get them used to it. That's why I think they'll roll that way.
  15. If we need a starter, we go with a bullpen game or some sort of opener with one of the AAA guys.
  16. As I said when he was in WOO, Workman is a reclamation project. Try to hide him, but I don't think an extended look will fix anything for him. His Statcast resembles 2020, not 2019. Not good. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/brandon-workman-519443?stats=statcast-r-pitching-mlb People are pulling him and barreling the ball.
  17. I can't believe he'd actually want to go to a team with a shot to make the playoffs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. 2 men enter, no man leaves.
  19. Before the season? He was really strong in 2019 and not great after returning from COVID in 2020. I don't think anyone really knew what to expect. People wanted him gone the middle of April, but not before then.
  20. Anderson with an "e"? So a completely different name then? That's like saying Hunter Renfroe and Hunter Renfrow are the same person.
