  1. My fantasy team will need some new stats if it's going to win this year...
  2. I think Wakefield's loss was a foregone conclusion at that point. It was bound to happen and not his fault. I remember watching that wild pitch. I don't remember the ball going between Buckner's legs. I was probably shellshocked at that point.
  3. No, the base would elevate when a player with an RFID chip got close enough. Otherwise, it would be at ground level.
  4. https://www.sandiegouniontribune.com/sports/padres/story/2021-04-06/fernando-tatis-jr-injury-shoulder-padres-doctor-surgery “It is very, very likely he has a labral tear,” said Dr. Michael Banffy, an orthopedic surgeon at Cedars-Sinai Kerlan-Jobe Institute in Los Angeles. “But a lot of times a noncollision athlete can still play their sport.” Banffy, who is one of the Dodgers’ team doctors, said the recurrence of the injury in such a short time span means Tatis continuing to play would create uncertainty for the club and its most dynamic player. The two recent instances of the shoulder popping out came when Tatis reached across his body to field a grounder and on Monday’s swing. Tatis plays extremely hard and fast, and there is risk of further damage by collision with another player or with the ground. “I think it probably would weigh pretty heavy on their mind, particularly if it occurred twice over the past two weeks and likely occurred prior to that,” Banffy said. “Then you also have the issue is he continuing to make it worse every time it comes out. You worry about the cartilage damage and bone loss. Unfortunately, this is an issue that is going to have some decision-making behind it. Unfortunately, it’s (five) games into the season.” The labrum is a ring of cartilage that surrounds the shoulder and holds it in place. A fix is arthroscopic surgery that generally requires a six-month recovery and involves no future complications. Continuing to play involves some risk.
  5. https://www.fangraphs.com/roster-resource/depth-charts/rays Which. One.
  6. Which one? Hill? Wacha? Archer?
  7. 4/4 Sox @ LAD, WS Game 1
  8. That damn second base...
  9. I can't imagine Fenway in April is a haven for the long ball.
  10. Yup, so I had to dump a pitcher to grab a bench bat (Dahl). I'm sure Dahl will be on the IL in the next few weeks, so I'll just replace him with a pitcher then.
  11. Tatis also got his contract after less than 150 MLB games. Mistake, IMO.
  12. You just need to spend $300M on the right guy (Mookie).
  13. Well, my #1 pick hasn't even played in a game yet due to no fault of his own.
  14. Too late. We're already through the looking glass.
  15. You could name it a Stanley if you wanted, but it'd be for the Steamer instead.
  16. Looking forward to Thursday morning when the Sox are in 1st place at 3 - 3 and the Yankees are in last place at 3 - 3.
  17. I'm going to just ignore this post as it is immaterial.
  18. So we anticipate Means having better stats because he doesn't have to face the 1st place O's?
  19. It's called the Gedman. Only the Bill James Handbook counts that stat.
  20. That's the wrong jersey. For the marathon tie in, it's the wrong color blue.
  21. The magic number is fuzzy math then. I don't believe in that witchcraft.
  22. And he spent all offseason stating how good the Rays will be???
  23. Unsustainable low BABIP of .077! In two starts last year against the lowly 2020 Sox, he gave up 9 runs.
